Also, his Nigerian compatriot at the team Ahmed Musa played for the first time under the new manager, coming on as a substitute for Shinji Okazaki in the 76th minute.

The defending champions are yet to lose a game under recently appointed full time manager Shakespare with four wins so far in the games he has handled them following the dismissal of Claudio Ranieri.

Bazee Plays for Nigeria?

Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, popularly known as Bazee, is a well-known German footballer. He is now the second striker of the team, Hannover 96; a dream position for several 120 kg customers. It was during 2013 that he moved to Hannover 96 and played in the Bundesliga. He has also played in the Regionalliga Nord before appearing against Hertha BSC. He is widely popular among the fine-grained talents in the German team at present.

But, the player is found to be of Nigerian descent. While his mother is from Germany making him eligible for the German team, his father is from Nigeria; thus, making him eligible to play for Nigeria. For a long time now, the Nigerian coach was approaching him to switch his alliance to the Nigerian team. Following this, the player took this matter to the Federation (FIFA) to make this switch. After lots of speculations over his eligibility to play for Nigeria, FIFA has finally made the decision in favor of the player. Thus, it cleared the way to make his transfer smooth and he is now all set to play for Nigeria.

His first appearance for Nigeria will be in Super Eagles friendly games, during which, he will face Senegal and Burkina Faso with his new teammates. However, still, he has got his Nigerian passport! Reports say that he has already applied for the passport and is waiting to get it.

In general, a person who holds a PR that is independent of residence in a particular country will qualify to represent the teams of that nation’s associations. Also, a person who has taken part in any match in an official game of any category/type for an association might not be able to play international games representing any other association. But, with Bazee, the exception is that he has no caps for Germany in any way, and it’s being said that he will be able to play for Nigeria on global levels after getting his Nigerian passport.

Meanwhile, a deadline of Mar 20, 2017 has been given by NFF for the players to be called for the friendly games mentioned above.

Why Ahmad Ahmad Victory At CAF Elections Means More To Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr

0

The victory of Ahmad Ahmad over Issa Hayatou at the recently concluded CAF elections will no doubt make the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr far happy than most Nigerians.

Ahmad ended Hayatou’s 29 year reign as CAF president by polling 34 votes as against the 20 votes Hayatou got at the elections which was held in Addis Ababa yesterday.

While most Nigerians have expressed their happiness over the victory of Ahmad Ahmad at the CAF pools, Rohr will be particularly happy for the new CAF President as they share one thing in common.

The wife of the Franco-German coach of the Super Eagles is from Madagascar, same country as the new CAF president, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

His emergence will therefore means more to the family of the Super Eagles coach , whose main job still remains qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Nigeria currently lead their qualifying group, four points more than second place Cameroon ahead of the resumption of the qualifiers in September.
