0

The decision of English Premier League giant Chelsea to recall defender Nathan Ake from his loan spell at Bournemouth is a move that should encourage Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo.

Omeruo has been out on loan since joining Chelsea in 2013, enduring loan spells in Holland, England and Turkey where his performances have still not earn him a spot in the first team of Chelsea.

Former Chelsea legend and defender Celestine Babayaro said so during a short interview with Owngoalnigeria.com on the chances of Kenneth Omeruo cutting it at Chelsea, when his loan with Turkish side Alanyaspor ends in the summer.

” Times are changing, and Nathan Ake’s recall should encourage Omeruo. It shows the manager is monitoring players out on loan and willing to give them a chance if they prove themselves”, Babayaro told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Omeruo will get his chance soon but he needs to focus on doing his best for his Turkish side, I heard he has played as a defensive midfielder in their last two games. The versatility will no doubt enhance his chances at Chelsea”.

Nigeria Have Stolen One Of Germany’s Brightest prospect In Fabian Senninger – German Journalist

Owngoalnigeria.com contact in Germany Roland Mark says Super Eagles latest addition Fabian Senninger will be a big loss to Germany in the future.

Fabian Senninger has pledged his international future to Nigeria ahead of Germany, the country of his birth and his father as he feels more at home with the national team of the country where his mother hails from.

Although he is virtually unknown to many in Germany, Mark reckons that he belongs to a class of upcoming talented defenders in the country.

” Nigeria have stolen one of Germany’s brightest prospect in defence. Senninger has all it takes to be a world class defender in a year or two.

” He recently joined Hannover 96 on a professional deal from Nike Academy, but before then am well aware that he had a short trial with Burnley”, Mark told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” He is very quick, can play as a right or left full back because he uses both feet correctly, he started off as a defensive midfielder, so he can also play there. He was by far the best player at the Nike Academy during his time there”.

Coppa Italia – Nnamdi Oduamadi In Line For First AC Milan Appearance In Six Years

Former Super Eagles forward Nnamdi Oduamadi has been officially added to AC Milan revised squad for the second half of the Serie A season by coach Vicenzo Montella.

Few days ago, he resumed training with the team but while Sunday’s league game against Cagliari might come a bit too soon, he is lined up to play against Torino in the Coppa Italia on Thursday.

His first and only appearance for the team came in 2010, when he lasted just five minutes on his debut, before heading out on seven consecutive loan spells.

26 year old Oduamadi is in the final six months of his contract at Milan, a situation which negates all talks about another loan spell away from the team, as per FIFA rules players in the final six months of their deal can’t go on loan.

Oduamadi returned back to the team after a six months loan spell at Finnish side HJK Helsinki, where his performances earned him a recall to the Milan giants.

Stoke City Manager Hughes Salute Ikeme’s Performance After Cup Upset

0

Manager of Stoke City Mark Hughes has credited the performance of Wolverhampton Wanderers shot stopper Carl Ikeme as part of this reason why his team suffered a shock cup exit.

Championship side Wolves dumped their elite opponents right in front of their fans with strike from Helder Costa and Matt Doherty, but Hughes believes his side were denied by Ikeme’s brilliance between the sticks for Wolves.
” You need luck, their keeper (Ikeme) made several saves, but ultimately we weren’t good enough on the day and we have to give them credit”, Hughes said after the game.

Ikeme had a quiet first half when his team were leading 1-0, but expectedly had a lot to do in the second half as Stoke push for an equaliser to force the tie into a replay.

His first major save of note was from Arnautovic 15 yard effort which he did well to push wide with a strong pair of hands, before producing another top class save to deny Affelay with a full range dive.

Joe Allen was next to try his luck with a long range effort but just Ikeme was once again to deny him with another top class save, moments before his team’s second
goal of the game.
