VIEW FROM WOLFSBURG – Let Draxler Go To PSG, Victor Osimhen Is Coming

The impending transfer of German forward Julian Draxler to French giants PSG won’t be hard felt by German side Wolfsburg according to a journalist based in the region.

Dietar Jones who resides in the area and covers the affair of Wolfsburg for various media houses told Owngoalnigeria.com in a chat that Draxler will bring in good money for the club, who are not under pressure to buy a replacement, thanks to the presence of Nigerian teen Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen will turn 18 on the 29th of December, and Jones believes as soon as he become eligible he will be fast tracked into the first team who are short of options in attack following the departure of Andre Schurrle in the summer and now Draxler.

” Osimhen is rated highly by the coaches of Wolfsburg, he will be more of a quick fix for Draxler, it could take him time to adapt, let say three months or less, but the coaches have seen a lot in him already to justify his price tag”, Jones told Owngoalnigeria.com

” Already Osimhen has trained with the first team on several occasion and even in unofficial test games, and his performances from what I gathered has given the coaches hope that he will fit into the team with ease”.

Chelsea current second longest serving player John Obi Mikel won’t be leaving Chelsea on loan this January, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The Nigerian has been frozen out of the first team set up at Chelsea by coach Antonio Conte, but even though he will most definitely leave the team in January, a loan move won’t be the case.

Per FIFA regulations a player in the final six months of his deal can’t leave on loan to another team, and Mikel is in the final six months of his contact at Chelsea after 11 years at the club.

FIFA Rankings – Super Eagles Maintain Position In Africa’s Top 10 But Drop One Spot In Global Ranking

According to the latest ranking released by World football governing body FIFA, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are now 51st in the world and number 8 football playing nation in Africa.

In the ranking released today, Nigeria dropped out of the top 50 position, as they are now 51st as opposed to last month where they were 50th.
Their World Cup qualifiers rival Cameroon and Zambia are behind the Eagles as they are places 65th and 88th respectively but Algeria are still ahead of the Eagles in the latest rankings.

However they are still in the top 10 in Africa where they are now 8th, behind Senegal, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Congo Dr and Burkina Faso, but are ahead of Ghana and Morocco who are 9th and 10th respectively.

Globally, Argentina are still the number one while respectively Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium make up the top five in the ranking for November.

Coach of Sunderland David Moyes has dropped a big hint regarding the international future of power playing Nigerian forward Victor Anichebe who has been linked with a return to the Nigerian national team under new coach Gernot Rohr.
