STOP PRESS: Bastianelli Is Not Ighalo’s Agent, Real Agent Aneke Shuts Down Napoli Rumours

0

Owngoalnigeria.com have been reliably informed that Patrick Bastianelli who claims to be the agent of Watford star Odion Ighalo, is not the agent of the Nigerian.

Bastianelli has claimed that Napoli are keen to push through a deal for Ighalo as a replacement for Arkadiusz Milik, whose season ended after he suffered a serious knee injury.

He however claimed that Watford are not keen on letting the forward go, hence it is very unlikely the move will happen, during an interview with Radio Marte.

Owngoalnigeria.com reported his interview yesterday but we have been reliably told that there’s no truth in Napoli’s interest in Ighalo and Bastianelli doesn’t represent the 26 year old.

” His agent is Atta Aneke and not Bastianelli, and I can confidently tell you, that there’s no way Ighalo is going back to Italy. He loves it in England and that is why he snubbed a big money move to China before the start of last season” Aneke’s close pal told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” For now Italy is not on the cards for Ighalo. Remember he only recently signed a contract extension. So he is focused on giving his best to Watford and not on a move away”.

Super Eagles Fans Favourite Odemwingie: I Still Have The Class, So I Just Need To Find My Form

Former Stoke City, West Brom and Cardiff City forward Peter Osaze Odemwingie says he still has the class of a top striker, and it is part of the reasons why he snubbed League one side Bolton Wanderers for Championship side Rotherham United.

The 35-year-old was a free agent after being released by Stoke in the summer and becomes new manager Kenny Jackett’s first signing, just days after taking charge.

He said: “Rotherham and Bolton showed interest over the weekend. Time is not on my side at my age and the Championship is a bit closer to where I wish to be.

“Thanks to Bolton for their interest in me but I’m really pleased to join Rotherham. Kenny showed some interest in me a few months ago and we have been in touch since then. I am pleased he got a job and he offered me a contract.

“My intuition said I’d be fine and that something would come along eventually. Playing well in the Premier League is still helping me now. Class is permanent, form is temporary, so I just need to find my form. All the movements are still there.”

Emenike Nets Match Winner For Fenerbahce As Rohr Gets Set To Release Squad For Algeria Tie

0

Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Emenike who announced his retirement from the team early this year, continued his rich vein of form in front of the net with the match winner as Fenerbahce secure a 1-0 win over Konyaspor.

Emenike scored after 25 minutes of the game, his first in his last four league games, after firing blanks against Osmaanlispor, Alanyanspor and Manchester United.

However the goal was his fourth of the season in the league but his seventh in all competition this season, after consecutive loan spells at Al-Ain and West Ham United last season.

His good form appears to have no impact on his national team career, as new Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is looking away from the former Spartak Moscow forward.

Rohr initially had him penciled down for talks about a return to the national team, but had a change of mind after his first two games in charge of the team, which ended in victories over Tanzania and Zambia.

” Over the past two years he has been on a great run with a total of 36 goals” He told Radio Marte.

” In January it may be difficult to go away, Watford and the Pozo family has excellent relations with Napoli, but it will be difficult to sell in the winter market.

” The last year he has also been wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United, but Watford had not even sat down to deal with them.

” We’re talking about a guy who is a part of the Nigerian national team. In football anything can happen, we’ll see”.

Head coach of the Nigeria senior national team has reacted to rumours making the round that he is yet to be paid by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), since he resumed as coach of the team two months ago.

German coach Rohr is reportedly on a salary of $47,000 (N18.6m), but rumours has it that the cash strapped NFF will struggle to pay the salary of the coach due to the economy problems in Nigeria.

The issue of non payment of salary to coaches has been a problem peculiar to the NFF, as witnessed with the last two coaches of the team and various coaches in the Nigeria national team set up.

Mourinho Blames Rashford For Victor Moses Impact In Man Utd Loss

Head coach of Manchester United Jose Mourinho is yet to get over his team scandalous 4-0 loss to his former side Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Mourinho who felt incredible defensive mistakes were to blame for his team thrashing faulted teen striker Marcus Rashford for not tracking back enough, leaving space for Victor Moses to run at the defence of the Red Devils.

Rashford was played from the left, same flank as Moses, who was thrice sent out on loan by Mourinho during his stay as manager of Chelsea, but has reinvented himself under new manager Antonio Conte as a wing back.

” After the first goal by Chelsea, we lost out tactical discipline. The goal came very early into the game. On the right Lingaard did enough to cover up for Valencia, but Rashford allowed Moses and Pedro to much space to put pressure on our defence” He said after the game.

” Rashford adjusted as the game went on but to be 2-0 up after 20-25 minutes, Chelsea were in control. It’s unfortunate we conceded two more in the second half”.

Thierry Henry Fires Shot At Man City Players For Snubbing Iheanacho Goal Celebration

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports have launched a scathing attack on players of Manchester City over their refusal to celebrate with Kelechi Iheanacho when he drew them level against Tottenham Hotspur before they eventually lost the game 2-1.

Henry believes why it was normal for the players to want a quick restart after drawing level it still doesn’t stop the players from joining Iheanacho in celebrating his goal.

“I know you have to go and get the ball back [to ensure a quick restart with the score level at 1-1 at the time] but no one went to celebrate with Iheanacho,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“That’s something that, I don’t know… you scored a goal, go and celebrate with the guy. ‘Let’s go, get the ball back’. No one went to celebrate with him. He was in the corner there.

“I think Vincent Kompany went with him and someone else but that’s it. Maybe I’m reading too much between the lines about that Man City team, but no one went to celebrate with him, that’s a bit weird.”
