Inter Milan Director Praises Nigerian Super Teen Awua, Reveals Cost Of Permanent Transfer Fee

The fine form of former Football Academy Abuja midfield maestro Theophilus Awua for the Primavera side of Inter Milan, hasn’t gone unnoticed by the upper ends at the Milan based side.

Awua arrived Inter from Serie B side Spezia this summer, where he had pre season training with the main team but Peter Fusco, director at Inter confirmed they have been monitoring him since he played against their youth team at the Viareggio Youth Tournament.

” Awua has been with us for a short time, but we know him right from when he played against us at the Viareggio, so at the end of the season, we asked Spezia for him” He told Mondoprimavera.

” He is a midfielder with a great amount of quality, a destroyer in the making and there is still room for him to grow further in the game. He reminds me of Danielle De Rossi but he is less physical but very athletic”.

Fusco also confirmed reports that the 18 year old cost Inter-Milan €200,000 in loan fee, with a fee of £2m agreed as permanent transfer in the summer, if he progresses as expected.

” Yes, the figure of his loan and transfer fee are correct as speculated. For now he could have some difficulty playing in the first team, so the Primavera is the right place for him to grow and improve his game.

“It’s premature to speak on if he will be signed permanently in the summer. The season has just began and it’s right we allow the player progress with his game before speaking about the chances of him signing a permanent deal in June”.

0

Ahead of Algeria November 12 World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Nigeria in Uyo, Sofiane Feghouli has lifted the lid on why players of the Desert Foxes made the FA fire manager Milovan Rajevac.

Feghouli alongside other senior players in the team approached the country’s soccer ruling body after their disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Cameroun in their first World Cup 2018 qualifiers game. They demanded the coach be fired for his poor tactics in the game.

“FAF were wrong in the choice of Rajevac,” he opened up.

“He did not know the names of the players or their positions. There was very little information on Cameroon. We did not prepare as we should.

“But I was not annoyed that I did not start against Cameroon because I do not have any ego problems when I play for the national team. I play for the flag.”

Ahead of the tie against Nigeria, the West Ham star fired a warning to his teammates, insisting anything short of a win or a draw will compound their chances of making it to the World Cup 2018 from their group.

“It will be a difficult trip to Nigeria in November,” conceded West Ham United star Feghouli in an interview.

“We will have to bounce back immediately because if we lost, it will become very complicated to qualify (for the World Cup). We know that.

“Unfortunately, it started badly with the home draw with Cameroon.

“In the group stage, the first match is always very important. But we still a chance as there are still five matches to go.”

Ex- Nigeria U-17 Coach Fires Back At ” Sick” Amokachi- We Collected Bribe To Produce Iheanacho, Success & Osimhen?

A national youth team coach of Nigeria has reacted angrily to statements credited to former Nigeria captain and coach Daniel Amokachi, that players of the Nigeria U-17 team are made to pay more before they are selected.

Amokachi made the statement, in an interview three days ago, while speaking on corruption in Nigeria, in the wake of arrest of alleged corrupt court judges by the Department of State Services, (DSS).

“President Buhari is one who doesn’t take nonsense when it comes to fighting corruption. I concur with everything he says. “For instance, in Nigerian football today, the youths, when invited to the national team, a coach will ask them to bring N250,000 each to get into the U-17 team when he already has the talent. If a person has talent, he should be allowed to showcase what he has in the interest of the nation.” He said.

However, one of the coaches who have been part of the last two set of Nigeria U-17, tha t have conquered the world, say Amokachi has no basis for making such allegations base on the success of the team and their players.

” He is obviously very sick to make such comment. I think he is looking for attention or he is envious of the fact that other coaches are contributing more to Nigeria football than he will ever do in his lifetime” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” In the last two years our U-17 teams have conquered the world, producing the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Isacc Success, Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Nwakali, Victor Osimhen and more. You can’t produce such highly rated players from a corrupt system. Amokachi is sick to have suggested that.

” The last two coaches of the U-17 Manu Garba and Emmanuel Amuneke have turned children of poor Nigerians into billionaires, owing to the success of our U-17 team. Ask Amokachi where children of poor men will get N250,000 to bribe coaches”

Chelsea super teen Tammy Abraham whose international future is been heavily contested between Nigeria and England, believes he will make the grade at Stamford Bridge.

Abraham has scored 11 goals in his 16 games for Bristol City, who he joined on loan in the summer, including eight in the league. The 19-year-old was awarded the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for August and September as a result of his efforts.

Having aided the Robins to sixth in the second tier, Abraham believes he has the ability to force his way into Antonio Conte’s plans.

‘I think with the new manager coming in the chances are there because we can see he’s been playing youngsters,’ Abraham told Sky Sports.

‘It’s a case of when you get the opportunity you have to impress and give your all.

‘Everyone has their time and hopefully my time will come soon.’

Abraham is yet to respond to news about Nigeria pulling the stops to have him play for their senior national team, a report which gained global prominence one week ago.

Nigeria have already made contact with the England youth international to switch allegiance to Nigeria at senior level, according to the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick.

“Tammy Abraham’s dad is my childhood friend, we grew up in the same neighbourhood in Warri,” Pinnick revealed in a chat.

“We speak quite often. Just finished another convo with him now. When we are ready, I am sure the NFF will not have any problem in securing his release. Tammy is like a son to me.”

REVEALED: The Five Super Eagles Players In Danger Of Missing Out Of The Squad For Algeria Tie

Close sources to the coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr have revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com, that as many as five players are on the brink of being omitted from the list of players for the Algeria tie.

We gathered the manager has read the riot act to his players and made it clear to them, that he will only call players who will add depth and value to the team, insisting that the era of trying players is over.

Rohr will from the tie against Algeria call up players, who are ready to push his first choice options for a spot as he aims to re-introduce competition for spots into the team.

To that effect names like Musa Mohammed, Jamiu Alimi, Nosa Igiebor, Kingsley Madu and Shehu Abdullahi have all been penciled down as potential casualty.

Alimi has failed to step up his game, since making the bench in Rohr’s first game as coach against Tanzania. He failed to make the most of Leon Balogun absence through injury as Kenneth Omeruo was preferred ahead of him in the game against Tanzania.

Igiebor and Shehu are also battling for their national team career under the German, as the emergence of Anderson Esiti who got the nod ahead of the duo when the coach wanted to make a midfield substitution, has put them on the outer.

Madu on his part has failed to push Elderson Echiejile for the left back slot of the team and already, the scout for a credible back up has been instigated by the coach.

Musa who was handed his debut by the manager is not getting games in Turkey for high flying Istanbul Basaksehir, a situation which lead to his axing in the game against Zambia.
