Chelsea Loanee Omeruo Dominates Ex Man Utd Ace Van Persie In Front Of Club Technical Staff

On loan Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo was impressive for his loan side Alanyaspor as they recovered from a 5-0 thrashing before the international break, by holding top Turkish team Fenerbahce to a 1-1 draw.

So far he has made five appearances for his loan side, but his performance against Fenerbahce ranks among his best as he was clearly a barrier for the Turkish Europa League campaigners.

Omeruo is in his fourth consecutive loan spell away from Stamford Bridge, frustrated former Manchester United ace Robin Van Persie who lead the line for Fenerbahce alongside Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike.

The 22 year old who spent last season on loan at another Turkish side Kasimpasa, won all his duels against the Dutch forward, in a game watched by a Chelsea technical staff reportedly sent to check on the progress of the Nigeria international.

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the progress of the defender, in view of a recall to the first team by next summer after convincing him to extend his deal before his current loan move.

Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke found the back of the net for the fifth time in four games in Sweden with a goal in AIK 2-0 win over Oestersunds FK in the Swedish top flight league.

Obasi rounded up victory for AIK in the 83rd minute to help them see off the game with ease, and in the process scored his 6th league goal since moving to Sweden in the summer.

He has found the back of the net in four consecutive games since his first goal against Orebro on the 21st of August in a 2-0 away win for AIK.

The 30 year old in the run up to today’s game scored against Djurgarden, Norrkoping and got his first brace of the season against Elfsborg.

Super Eagles forward Moses Simon scored his third goal of the season in Belgium, netting his side second goal in their 3-0 win over Zulte Waregem.

Simon who last scored against Lokeren on the 11th of September in another 3-0 win, found the back of the net in the 77th minute for his side second goal after Kalifa Coulibaly has given them the lead in the 47th minute.

Already the 21 year old has equaled his last season goal tally from just 8 games this season as opposed to last season, where he needed 32 games to score three goals in the league.

In same game Super Eagles fringe player Kingsley Madu was handed his debut by Zulte Waregem, coming on as a 87th minute substitute with his side already two goals down.

The quest to appoint a coach ahead of their World Cup 2018 qualifiers tie with Nigeria in Uyo next month has put the football governing body of Algeria under immense pressure.

The FA have been forced to deal with so many speculations in the media as to who will succeed Milovan Rajevac, who left as coach shortly after their first game against Cameroon which ended 1-1 in front of their fans.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has hailed Victor Mosesfollowing his impressive display against Leicester City on Saturday evening.

The winger was on target as the Blues breezed past Claudio Ranieri’s men at the Stamford Bridge to climb fifth on the English topflight log.

And his boss has heaped plaudits on him for paying attention to defensive duties while remaining a good source for attack.

“When I arrived at Chelsea I told the club I wanted to see Victor in pre-season because I knew him very well and I knew about his great potential,” Conte told Chelsea website.

“He played well as a winger when we were playing with a 4-2-4. He’s a very good player, now he’s playing as a wing-back and it’s fantastic because he pays great attention in defence and can go one against one in attack.

“Alonso always played this role but Moses is a winger. His education is fantastic. I’m pleased for him. If someone shows they deserve to play I have no problem, I don’t care about the surname.”

Victor Moses goal celebration after scoring in Chelsea 3-0 win over Champions Leicester City didn’t quite go down well with some Nigerians, judging by their reactions on twitter.

Moses missed the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-1 win over Zambia in Ndola, with a hamstring injury picked up in Chelsea’s win over Hull City but some Nigerians were of the opinion that he feigned injury to skip the tie.

However the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) debunked the insinuations but after seeing Moses celebrate his goal in style with back flips. Some Nigerians were quick to reopen the debate as to if he was actually injured or if the injury was fabricated so he can skip the tie against Zambia.

They took to twitter to air their views, on the 25 year old, who is experiencing a new lease of life at Chelsea under manager Antonio Conte. Owngoalnigeria.com picked just two of the numerous tweet aimed at him.

Alex Iwobi who was compared to his uncle Austin Okocha by his Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil, proved the German right when he went past five players with a some neat piece of skills.

During the week Ozil who has been one of the players motivating the 20 year old, during the course of the week said ” He reminds me of his uncle Jay-Jay Okocha, he was a player I loved watching”.

Iwobi appreciated the praise and reacted by saying, ” When I saw (Ozil compared me to Okocha and Edgar Davids), I was like, wow is he serious?. Because he never really says that much to me”.

Arsenal 20 year old forward Alex Iwobi missed out on a nomination for the CAF Player of the year award, even as five other Nigerians made the list released earlier today.

Chelsea of England midfielder Mikel Obi and Leicester City big money buy Ahmed Musa, lead rave of the moment Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester City as the three Nigerians in the list.

They will battle current holder Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang and 26 other African players in a list which also has Musa’s teammate Riyead Mahrez who was voted the best player in England last season.

The Nigerian duo of Mfon Udoh who plays for Enyimba and Wydad Casablanca’s Chisom Chikatara were also nominated, but in the category of Best African Player based in Africa.

CAF will trim the list before the end of the year for the awards which will be handed out in the first quarter of next year.
