Gent of Belgium ace Moses Simon has revealed the one quality he admires the most in Arsenal 20 year old forward Alex Iwobi, who is his international teammate in the Nigeria national team set up.

Simon who played alongside Iwobi in the attack of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2-1 win over Zambia over the weekend, in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers with Iwobi scoring one of the goals.

Aside his goal in the game, Simon reveals he admires a lot of qualities in the nephew of former Super Eagles captain Austin Okocha, particularly his conduct off the pitch.

The head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has identify one key area he wants his team to make proper use of when it comes to goal scoring.

Since Rohr took over the Super Eagles they have scored three goals from open play with Manchester City Kelechi Iheanacho and Arsenal Alex Iwobi the players to have found the back of the net for Nigeria under Rohr.

Nigeria will next play Algeria in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers, where they are presently on top of group B after their 2-1 away success over Zambia in Ndola.

Ahead of the game, Rohr is eager to see his team score goals from set pieces due to the amount of freekicks and corner kicks they usually get in games.

Three players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have in separate chats confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com that, Gernot Rohr has made a positive impact on their mentality when it comes to games.

One of the players said unlike past coaches of the team, the German coach gives them lot of confidence when to games, and usually advised them to enjoy themselves on the pitch.

” He talks to every player. He doesn’t discriminate, to him every player is the same but the last two coaches of the team were not like that” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Another player said, he doesn’t give too much instructions on the pitch, which has allow the players the freedom to express themselves properly during games.

” One of our former coach, doesn’t stop talking from the start of the game till the end he is talking. It confuses us a lot but Rohr is not like that, he give us the freedom to play our game bar little corrections”.

Funny and strict when he has to, was the sentence one of the players we talked to use in describing the German handler.

” You can’t have a friendly chat with him without laughing, he is very funny but strict when it comes to passing on team instruction”.

The future of former Nigeria Under-17 and 20 captain Musa Muhammed in the Super Eagles in under threat according to manager Gernot Rohr.

Muhammed lack of game time at Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir has not gone down well with the manager, who has now made it clear that the 19 year old risk being dropped from subsequent squads unless he sort out his club form.

” Part of the reason, he (Musa) didn’t play in the last game against Zambia was because of his lack of game time for his team in Turkey. We have to be clear on it. Players need to play for their clubs to earn a spot in our team” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

On the possible recall of Victor Moses and Isacc Success who both missed the game against Zambia due to injury, the German coach confirmed they will have to fulfill some conditions before they are handed a recall to the team.

The lack of game time, the Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi and vice captain Ahmed Musa are currently suffering in England for their respective side has forced a reaction from coach of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr.

Head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr, has giving an insight into the chances of home base players in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming World Cup 2018 qualifiers game against Algeria.

Since taking over the job of the Super Eagles, he has included home based players in his squad for games, a sign of the faith he has in their abilities.

Although no player from the Nigeria domestic scene has played since his coming two months ago. The likes of Jamiu Alimi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Godwin Obaje and Chisom Egbuchulam have all made the bench for the team.

In an exclusive interview with Owngoalnigeria.com in Abuja, the German handler of the Super Eagles confirmed that he has plans for players based in Nigeria but could snub them as the league is on break.

” I have them in my plans but for November, I don’t think they stand a chance as the league is presently on break” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Super Eagles captain Obi Mikel has lauded his colleagues for stepping up to the challenge in opening Group C clash.

Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho scored in the 32nd and 42nd minutes respectively to catapult the four-time the West Africans to the summit of the group.

“It is always nice to play with a young team where you know everyone is hungry and wants to establish himself in the first team,” the 29-year-old Nigeria captain said.

“It reminds me as well of when I started under the likes of Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu. It was a great a pleasure playing with them.

“It is the same with these guys. We enjoyed playing, creating chances but at the end of the day we have to play to the coach’s instructions.”

Milovan Rajevac reportedly resigned from his role as coach of the Algerian team after just three games at the helm and three months into the job. The 1-1 draw at home against Cameroon in the World Cup 2018 qualifying series according to sources triggered the revolt.

The FA listened to their complains and summoned the manager who decided to leave by mutual consent. Furthermore they were complains about his man management skills, no thanks to his inability to speak Arabic or French, the two leading languages in the country.

Nigeria Rio 2016 Olympic hero Sadiq Umar has spoken out about his chances of making the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
