0

Portuguese giants FC Porto have drawn up the list of players who are not in the plans of coach Martin Anselmi for next season after their exit from the club world cup, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Porto were knocked out in the group stages after drawing two games and losing one in their group. They have wasted no time in getting their plans right on time for next season’s camp where they aim to wrestle the league title from Sporting Lisbon.

A nine man list was leaked by Portuguese news outlet Abola and it has the name of Nigeria international left back Zaidu Sanusi, who is yet to fully recover from an ACL injury that kept him out of the team for almost 18 months.

He didn’t play a single minute for the team at the club world cup and with two years left on his deal, the club has decided to cut him loose alongside eight others. The idea is to have their representative look for an alternative for them very early into the transfer window.

The 9 outgoing players of FC Porto, according to Abola are:

Samuel Portugal

Otávio Ataide

Zaidu

Marko Grujic

André Franco

Gonçalo Borges

Pepe

Danny Namaso

Pre Season: Conte Bars Osimhen From Training With Napoli First Team, Banished To Youth Team

0

As we first reported Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen has been ordered to return to Napoli for the start of pre season training in preparation for next season, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Osimhen spent last season on loan to Galatasary where he fired them to the league and cup double with 37 goals and six assists in all competitions. He is now back at Napoli upon the expiration of his loan deal.

He will be expected at their training camp which opens on the 14th/15th of July unless he secures a move away before the date, and it seems unlikely after his decision to snub a move to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia the only team that has met his release clause of €75m.

The Serie A champions will have medical tests for all their players between July 14 and 15, and will have training sessions in Dimaro, Trentino Alto Adige, from July 17 to 27 before a a two-day break, which will be followed with preparation in Castel Di Sangro (Abruzzo) between July 30 and August 14.

Coach of the team Antonio Conte has already informed the representative of the 26 year old that he will be training away from the first team, as he is not in their plans for next season largely due to his desire to leave.

Just like it was last time out when he was sent home from their training camp, he will be excused from all tactical and technical drills of the first team. He will keep his physical condition by training with the youth team.

0

The sporting director of newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Paris FC has explained the reason why they made Nigeria international winger Moses Simon their priority signing, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Backed by the Arnault family and the Red Bull brand, the club made the Nigeria international their first major signing by snapping him up from Nantes for a fee of €7m, which could potentially rise to €10m with add ons.

In addition, the 29 year old will earn twice his pay with the club after agreeing a monthly wage is €300,000. Twice the amount he was earning at his previous club, where he spent six seasons.

Speaking on the reason behind the decision to offer such juicy terms to Simon who ended last season with eight goals and ten assists, the sporting director of the club François Ferracci said: “We are delighted to welcome Moses. He was a priority recruit for us, and he showed genuine interest in our project despite the numerous requests. He will make us more efficient in many areas. ”

Play For Super Eagles: Marriage Plans Make Bundesliga Star To Shift Meeting With Chelle

0

The proposed meeting between the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle and Moritz Jenz who was on loan from Wolfsburg to fellow Bundesliga side Mainz 05 couldn’t hold due to the wedding plans of the 26 year old, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Chelle spoke with the defender who was born in Germany to a Nigerian father and German mother, making him eligible to play for the Nigerian national team. The pair discussed on the possibility of having him make a u-turn on his decision to wait for a senior call up to the German national team.

They were plans for them to meet in the summer , but it was shelved as Jenz picked his wedding date to coincide with his off season break, and he is presently on honeymoon just in time before the resumption of pre season training.

Last season he made 19 appearances in the German Bundesliga and Chelle sees him as an option in his his to refresh the ageing defence of the Nigerian team. A new date for them to meet hasn’t been agreed as at the time of this report.

The signs are that Jenz is so far showing interest in the project of the Nigerian team, and will give it a serious thought because he has little or no chance of playing for Germany. He hasn’t been capped by either country at any level.

Too Slow: Chelle Unhappy With Ekong Led Super Eagles Defence, Intensify Search For More Options

0

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle isn’t impressed with the defence of the Super Eagles led by captain William Troost-Ekong, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle has been in charge of the Super Eagles in five games, and feels the number of chances that has gone against them, even in the game against Rwanda which they won 2-0 is a cause for concern.

He is particularly worried over the pace of Ekong the leader of the defence, because of the way they press high up the pitch and often time play with the full backs taking up offensive positions.

His concerns is why he has intensify the search for more options at centre back, and will meet with German born defender Moritz Jenz. Their meeting was earlier scheduled to hold at the end of the season but postponed as the defender got married.

Jenz is one of several options the coach is said to be looking at including ex Enyimba’s defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, who had a storming first season in Austria with Wolfsberger AC making the official team of the season in the league.

Nwaiwu is linked with a move in the summer transfer window with teams in Germany, Belgium and France said to be interested in luring him.

Little Known Nigerian Defender Picked As Replacement For Balogun At Scottish Side Rangers

Rangers have opened talks with English Football League One side Peterborough for the signing of 23 year old Nigerian defender Emmanuel Oluwasegun Opeyemi Fernandez, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

New coach of Rangers Russell Martin picked the defender as his choice to replace Nigeria international defender Leon Balogun, who left the club for Cyprus side Aris Limassol upon the expiration of his contract.

The defender was a target of English Championship side Norwich City in the January transfer window, but ended up staying at the League One side till the end of the season. He was a regular all through last season for his team who finished 18th on the log.

Fernandez made 42 appearances across all competitions for the Posh in the 2024-25 campaign, starting in 39 of those outings. He played almost every minute in the club’s EFL Trophy campaign as they reached the final at Wembley and beat Birmingham 2-0 in April.

Standing at an impressive height of 6ft 4in he showed his eyes for goals by scoring five times last season. His current contract runs till June 2027 after his last contract extension in 2024.

His signing will add depth to the defence of Rangers, which currently have John Souttar, Robin Propper, Leon King and Clinton Nsiala in their centre-back ranks.

Interest From Dutch League Giants Force Super Eagles Striker To Pause Transfer To Greek Side

0

Cyriel Dessers has put his proposed move to Greek side AEK Athens from Scottish side Rangers on hold owing to interest from a top team in Europe, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

His move to AEK Athens was expected to be completed in the last 48 hours with the Greek side already agreeing personal terms with him, and closing in on an agreement for his fee with Rangers, who want €5M for the 30 year old while AEK Athens offered €4M.

Despite the impasse AEK Athens were confident of having the 30 year old available for pre season training which starts next week, but their intentions were pushed back by the camp of Dessers who are studying an interest from Dutch giants Feyenooord.

Sport24 and SDNA say Feyenoord are preparing to wrestle the forward who scored 51 goals in two seasons at the Scottish side from AEK, with a counter offer for him to return to the club where he spent the 2021/22 season on loan from Belgium side Gent.

Feyenooord failed with a bid of €9m for Gent’s forward Oh Hyeon-gyu leading them to look the way of Dessers, who scored 20 goals across all competitions during his time with them.

Dessers also finished as top scorer in that season’s UEFA Europa Conference League, which they lost in the final to Roma.

The 24 year old who is now a full fledged senior international for Germany made this known at the Club World Cup, where he is presently one of the top performers for the German side.

His international future would have taken an entire different turn if it was down to his desire as a child, but he said despite his decision to play for Germany he still hold a very strong affiliation to Nigeria, and supports the team whenever they play .

“Definitely when I was really young it was actually the first time I wanted to play for because I remember the first shirt I had was from Obafemi Martins and he was obviously Nigerian as well. So that Nigerian shirt I had that in mind”, he said in a video made available to our editorial team.

“Obviously now it’s gone this direction that I am playing for Germany but I definitely still feel like connected to the country. Like when it’s the AFCON and stuff I am always supporting of course and it’s good”.

Firefighting in Remote Areas: Challenges and Strategies for Effective Emergency Response in Nigeria

0

You get the call. A diesel tanker has flipped on a rural road. It’s 60 kilometers to the nearest station. No hydrants. No signal. No second truck. You’ve got one fire rescue truck, one chance, and no room for failure.

This isn’t a worst-case scenario. It’s what happened in Jigawa State, where over 140 Nigerians lost their lives when a fuel tanker overturned. According to witness accounts, most of the victims in the Jigawa tanker explosion were burned to death near the overturned truck, while others were caught in the fire while trying to help.

In this blog, we’ll break down what really makes remote firefighting difficult — and what kind of custom fire truck is actually built to handle it.

Reaching the Fire Isn’t Easy

When you’re working in remote zones, getting to the scene is already a challenge. There are no paved roads. You’re dealing with loose gravel, soft sand, steep climbs, or washed-out trails.

A standard city truck isn’t built for that. Low clearance means you’re dragging metal across rock. Weak suspension means constant repair. And if your truck bottoms out before it gets to the fire, that fire gets worse fast.

Crews working these environments need more than transportation. They need a large fire truck that won’t slow them down before the firefighting even starts.

No Hydrants. No Backup. Everything Rides on the Truck

City departments rely on hydrants, backup crews, and short response times. None of that exists out here. The truck has to bring everything — water, foam, tools, power — and hold up for the full duration. A 3,000-liter tank doesn’t last long against a fuel fire. And if your foam system isn’t reliable, you’re not putting out oil or chemical fires.

What works in a remote fire? High-capacity tanks. Durable foam proportioning systems. Pumps that can run continuously. A fire rescue truck that can operate independently. If it fails, there’s no one coming to bail you out.

And the people operating that truck? Sometimes full-time responders. Often not. In many places, you’re working with a mix of volunteers and plant staff. They need clear, functional controls and equipment that won’t break if something gets used hard or used wrong.

Fires Don’t Wait for You to Set Up

When a fuel tank ignites, or a storage area goes up, water alone doesn’t cut it. These fires move fast, burn hot, and involve hazardous materials. You need high-flow discharge and foam delivery, and the truck needs to stay stable the whole time. No bouncing. No roll risk. And no chance of losing pressure mid-operation.

The truck does the work of an entire station. That means the design can’t cut corners. It needs a reliable pump, large tank capacity, rugged valves, and enough power to keep going on uneven terrain.

Here’s what actually matters in a truck made for this kind of work:

  • 4×4 or full-time all-wheel drive

  • High ground clearance

  • Off-road suspension system

  • 12,000 to 18,000-liter water and foam tank

  • Pump-and-roll capability

  • Easy-to-operate pump controls

  • Durable frame and corrosion-resistant parts

SITRAK Fire Truck: Built for Hard Use

The SITRAK fire truck, developed by SINOTRUK in partnership with MAN, checks those boxes. It’s based on MAN fire truck engine and chassis technology — the same platform used in high-performance European trucks — but built with real field use in mind.

That means:

  • A strong diesel engine for long-distance, off-road travel

  • Reinforced chassis and suspension

  • 18,000-liter tank with foam system

  • Simple, field-ready controls

  • Lower long-term maintenance needs

It’s a custom fire truck that doesn’t depend on smooth roads or perfect conditions. If you’re comparing SITRAK vs MAN, you’ll see they share core design strengths.

YONGAN Builds for the Conditions You Work In

YONGAN Fire Safety Group, a trusted fire truck manufacturer with over 30 years of experience, builds for the places that test equipment the hardest. Not downtown intersections — but mining zones, oil depots, remote logistics hubs, and inland chemical plants.

They design and supply large fire trucks across China, Africa, and the Middle East. Every build starts with a clear goal: provide custom fire trucks that fit the environment.

That means real-world customization:

  • Larger tank options

  • Reinforced frames

  • Simplified controls

  • Long-distance drivability

  • Resistance to heat, dust, and corrosion

The Bottom Line in Remote Fire Response

Fires in remote areas don’t offer second chances. No hydrants to hook into. No engine company around the corner. If the truck doesn’t make it, or can’t hold up under load, everything is at risk.

A fire truck manufacturer who understands this won’t sell based on features. They’ll build for performance, field conditions, and reliability.

The terrain won’t wait. The fire won’t slow down. The only truck that matters is the one that can handle both.
