Exclusive- Bundesliga Side Stuttgart Reach Agreement To Sign Super Eagles Striker

0

German Bundesliga side Stuttgart are in the lead in the race for the future of Nigeria international forward Paul Onuachu who wants out of relegated English Premier League side Southampton after just six months at the club.

Onuachu joined the team in the January transfer window from Belgium side Genk but the move hasn’t worked out as planned and following the relegation of the team, he is among the players who will be allowed to leave as part of the cost cutting measures of the team.

Stuggart have long been on the trail of the lanky forward with attempts to sign him two summers ago amounting to nothing as the player has his mind fixed on playing for a team in the English Premier League.

They now see this as the perfect time to make a swoop for the 27 year old with talks already held with his representatives on personal terms. An agreement per what OwnGoalNigeria.com understands has been reached.

The idea is to have him on a season long loan with the option of signing him permanently at the end of the loan deal. A loan fee of around €1m will be tabled to Southampton who are not opposed to the forward leaving on temporary basis.

List Of Players In Camp: Osimhen Tops List Of Four Yet To Arrive Super Eagles Camp For AFCON Qualifiers

0

The camp of the senior national team of Nigeria is already home to 19 players ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Sierra Leone on Saturday in Monrovia.

Nigeria need a win to book a place at next year Africa Cup of Nations after picking up three wins from their first four games of the series. The last of which was the 1-0 win away to Guinea Bissau courtesy of a goal from Moses Simon.

Coach Jose Peseiro will lead the team out for their first training session later this evening with all 19 players expected to be in attendance, although more players would have probably joined the team before then.

Per the official handle of the team on social media, four players are yet to arrive at the camp of the team as at the time of this report and it includes captain of the team Ahmed Musa, top striker Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

While Osayi-Samuel played a game on Sunday hence probably why he isn’t in the camp yet, the same can’t be said about the other players. For instance the duo of Chukwueze and Osimhen have been on holiday following the conclusion of their respective leagues two weeks ago.

Below is the list of players in camp.

Ekong, Lookman, Aribo, Iwobi, Bassey, Ajayi, Akpoguma, Omeruo, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Awoniyi, Simon, Adeleye, Sochima, Ojo, Duru, Samuel, Divine, Onyeka in. 19 Players in camp.

Nigeria U20 Players Lament Playing On Failed Promises And Empty Stomach At U20 World Cup – Bosso Made Us Play

0

Players of the U20 team of Nigeria are back in the country following their campaign at the U20 World Cup in Argentina, where they were knocked out in the quarter final by South Korea.

The Ladan Bosso led team gave a good account of themselves at the tournament with a group stage win over tournament’s finalist Italy and also knocking out the host Argentina in the round of 16.

Some of the players have expressed their displeasure at the way their welfare was handled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) saying the coach of the team was the reason why they didn’t go on strike. He said the same disgrace Nigeria faced in 2019 and also the 2017 U20 team would have happened again if not for the coach.

” In camp we got to a point where we said enough is enough and we don’t play until we get our bonuses which they said it’s $2,000 for a win. We only got $2,000 despite winning three games and not even a single penny was given to us as camp allowance even appearance fee wasn’t paid”, one of the players told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Another player said the coach in the company of a backroom staff of the team explained to them how the 2017 team went on strike on the eve of the second leg of their qualifiers game and ended up not making it to the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. He said reference was also made about the 2019 team at the World Cup, who refused to leave their hotel after their elimination thereby bringing shame to the image of the country.

” Bosso kept on drumming it in our ears that doing well at the tournament will be more beneficial to our careers in the future than any financial benefit we will get from the NFF. We almost lost it but he kept us on our toes with stories of the 2017 U20 team and that of 2019. It wasn’t easy at all”, he said.

Administrative Issues Cost English Championship Top Scorer A Spot In Super Eagles Squad For AFCON Qualifiers

0

The senior national team of Nigeria have started training ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Sierra Leone in Monrovia on Sunday, 18 June at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, the adopted home ground of the Lone Stars.

One player who was missing from the list of 23 players called up by the coach is the top scorer in the English Championship Chuba Akpom. The 27 year old ended the season with the award of the top scorer in the division after scoring 28 goals and he was also voted the best player in the division.

He was said to be an obvious candidate for the team against Sierra Leone, which would have been his first call up to the senior national team of Nigeria since his switch of nationality was approved by world football governing body FIFA.

That wasn’t the case as he was once again not listed for the game meaning he will have to wait a little longer for his first call up to the senior national team of Nigeria. OwnGoalNigeria.com sought to know the reason behind his omission.

” This time around, it is passport related because his Nigerian passport has expired. He is yet to renew it and that is why he wasn’t called up. From what I know he was in the list of players until it was discovered that his Nigerian passport isn’t valid.  Hopefully he will be in the next squad”, a team source told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Help!! Peseiro Has Gone Mad – A Look At The Super Eagles List For AFCON Qualifiers

0

When the list of the players called up by the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro was made public, a lot of Nigerians expressed their displeasure at the omission of some players at the expense of those who many think don’t merit a spot in the team.

OwnGoalNigeria.com editor in chief Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman takes a look at the list and how the coach of the team appears to have totally lost the plot when it comes to the idea of calling up players to the senior national team of Nigeria.

Goalkeepers: Adebayo Adeleye (Hapoel Jerusalem, Israel); Victor Sochima (Rivers United); Olorunleke Ojo (Enyimba FC)

Mowiz: What is shocking in this selection is the fact that Peseiro knows that the third goalkeeper in the list might not get to play. So why not hand it to the U20 goalkeeper who is coming off the back of a fantastic world cup campaign with Nigeria. Again he has been a part of the team prior to now.

Defenders: William Ekong (Watford FC, England); Calvin Bassey (Ajax FC, The Netherlands); Kevin Akpoguma (TSG Hoffenheim, Germany); Chidiebube Duru (Rivers United); Oluwasemilogo Ajayi (West Bromwich Albion, England); Kenneth Omeruo (CD Leganes, Spain); Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal); Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce FC, Turkey).

Mowiz – One has to wonder the idea behind calling up five centre backs for one game and only one right back in Bright Osayi-Samuel. Meanwhile the team has a right back in Empoli’s Tyronne Ebuehi who plays in a league rated higher than any player in the list and a regular at that. Even Osayi-Samuel hasn’t played as many league games in Turkey like the 27 year old in Italy this season.

Midfielders: Joseph Ayodele-Aribo (Southampton FC, England); Alex Iwobi (Everton FC, England); Divine Nwachukwu (Bendel Insurance); Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England); Frank Onyeka (Brentford FC, England)

Mowiz- Maybe one can say this area is a bit balanced but when you consider that Aribo hasn’t played just three games not up to 90 minutes. Then it’s easy to ask why not leave him out for a certain Daniel Daga is the Nigeria U20 team who was by far one of the best players in the Nigerian team at the World Cup? Only Peseiro can explain this decision.

Forwards: Moses Simon (Nantes FC, France); Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal FC, Spain); Ademola Lookman (Atalanta FC, Italy); Victor Osimhen (SSC Napoli, Italy); Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest, England); Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England); Ahmed Musa (Sivasspor K, Turkey)

Mowiz – Aside from the inclusion of Musa which one can say is due to his role as captain of the team, every other name on the list can pass as a worthy Inclusion. Maybe the exclusion of Terem Moffi is harsh and the decision to leave out the duo of Gift Orban and Victor Boniface will make some to scratch their head. One still can’t argue about the inclusion of the players picked by the coach.

Final Verdict: One thing is obvious. Peseiro needs help because some of the decisions are straightforward but when madness steps in, nothing seems easy anymore.

Nigeria: A Country With a Thriving Football History

0
Football is a popular sport in Nigeria that has a long and rich history. The sport was introduced to Nigeria by the British colonial masters in the early 20th century and has since become a national passion and pride with a thriving betting industry, an example of which is the ever-increasing number of betting sites like sporty bet.
This article will trace the evolution of football in Nigeria from its colonial origins to its present status as one of the most successful and influential forces in Africa.
Quick summary of football history in Nigeria
The first recorded football match in Nigeria was in June 1904 between Hope Waddell Training Institute and the crew of the British gunboat HMS Thistle. The match ended 3-2 in favor of the Nigerians.
By 1906, football clubs had started to be formed in the country. The sport has only evolved since then, becoming not only a form of entertainment, but also serving as inspiration for achieving political freedom.
Football back then became a way for Nigerians to express their identity and resistance against colonial oppression. Some of the early football clubs were named after nationalist leaders such as Herbert Macaulay and Nnamdi Azikiwe.
History of NFF
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the official governing body of football in Nigeria, was formed in 1933 as the Nigeria Football Association (NFA). The NFA organized the first national football competition in 1945, known as the Governor’s Cup.
The NFA also affiliated with FIFA in 1960, the same year that Nigeria gained its independence from Britain. The NFA changed its name to NFF in 2008 to reflect its status as a federation rather than an association.
The first official Nigerian football matches
The Nigerian national football team played its first official game in October 1949 while it was still a British colony. The team was known as the UK Tourists and later on caught the nickname of Red Devils due to their red shirts.
The team first appeared in the Africa Cup of Nations in 1963, but did not advance to the next stage. Its first major success was a gold medal in the 2nd All-Africa games in 1973, followed by 3rd-place finishes in the 1976 and 1978 African Cup of Nations.
In 1980, players such as Segun Odegbami, the team, led by Christian Chukwu, won the African Cup for the first time in Lagos.
Global recognition of Nigerian Football Teams
The team also achieved global recognition by winning the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, beating Brazil and Argentina along the way. The team has qualified for six FIFA World Cups, reaching the round of 16 three times. Its highest FIFA ranking was 5th in April 1994, the highest ever achieved by an African team. The team is currently nicknamed the Super Eagles and is one of the most successful and popular teams in Africa.
Some of the legends of Nigerian football include Rashidi Yekini, who is the all-time top scorer for the national team with 37 goals and Nwankwo Kanu, who won two African Player of the Year awards and captained the team to Olympic gold.
Current stars of Nigerian football include Ahmed Musa, who is the most capped player for the national team with 108 appearances and Kelechi Iheanacho, who is one of the top scorers in the English Premier League.
Nigeria honors its football heroes with pride.

And, above all, football has always been a vital part of Nigerian history and culture and is bound to continue growing over the years.

You might be thinking about trying out online slots for the first time now that you know about their straightforward gameplay, large jackpots, and alluring bonuses. Perhaps after playing a particular style of online slot game, you want to discover what else is out there. In any case, you must purchase a variety of online slots. You can then choose the one that best suits your needs, preferences, and financial situation. Keep in mind that there are various types available, regardless of what you choose. Let’s talk about the numerous kinds of online slots you should be familiar with:

Classic

Any novice player may quickly learn the different symbols and game mechanics in classic Slot to win big jackpots. The awards in this game are likewise substantial and progressive. The jackpot is won by a player who hits on three connected symbols. The initial slot machines had a big impact on the whole gaming sector since they helped create Las Vegas as we know it today.

Five Reel

The five-reel slot machine is perhaps the best one you can play in a real casino or an online gaming site. They are now the ones that are used the most. Contrary to traditional slots, five-reel slots are computerized and do not have levers or automated spins. They continue to use visually appealing recordings, sounds, and visuals designed to draw players. Therefore, it is believed that five-reel slots are the true top sellers of today’s casino games. The word “video slots” refers to games that employ an LCD instead of a mechanical reel.

Multiple Paylines

Some slots feature many pay lines while others simply have a single linear pay line in the center. There are several pay lines available on three-reel slots, which range from 1 to 9. On tablets, they only allow a maximum stake of three pence per line. On the other hand, a machine with multiple pay lines has a winning chance that’s equivalent to the total number of lines. In five-reel slots, players may create 20 to 25 different combinations, with some machines supporting up to 200 lines. The more pay lines a player chooses, the higher their wager will be and the greater the likelihood they will have to win every spin.

Progressive Slot

A part of the bet made when gaming the progressive slots goes toward the jackpot. This implies that the jackpot is made up of the current game’s participants. On the majority of locations, operators will display the progressive jackpot won using their upgraded slots. The progressive jackpot is often known as the total jackpot. To contribute to a single advanced jackpot, online casinos will connect slot machines or different casinos. Jackpots can reach millions of dollars, but as one might expect your chances of winning decrease as the prize size increases.

The numerous types of online slots are covered in the above-mentioned list, but there are also many other slots available. Each one is created with extra specifications and guidelines. Playing games is always entertaining.

0

Thanks to technology, you can now easily access online casino platforms anywhere. Furthermore, the internet is awash with online casinos where you can play. And with simple steps, you can create an account, fund it, and join the fun. The popularity has attracted cybercriminals and unscrupulous online casino agents out to steal from you. This article covers the rookie mistakes you should avoid when choosing online gambling platforms.

Failing to Research and Verify the Legitimacy

Relevant authorities regulate and audit online casinos to ensure they adhere to set guidelines. The guidelines, which include but are not limited to fairness and transparency, aim to protect you when playing on the platforms. Assuming that the online casino you are about to join is regulated is a mistake you must avoid. Ensure that you research and verify the online casino’s registration and compliance. Check if the platform mentions its registration like reputable ones such as mega888 do. Doing so will ensure you are safe when enjoying online casino games.

Overlooking the Available Games and their Providers

These platforms have a wide variety of games provided by different software developers. It would be best if you never overlooked the available games. Ensure that the online casino has the game variants you like. Doing so is essential because you might end up in an online casino with games you don’t like. While at it, research the game developers. This will help you determine the reputation and the quality of the games they develop. This process is simple if you are at a reputable online casino because the platforms mention their game providers. They also have demo games and trailers that give you a glimpse into the games.

Not Checking the Payment Methods

You need to load funds into your account to play for real money. Therefore, you should not fail to check the available payment methods. Ensure that the platform you want to play on has your preferred payment method. This feature will make it easy to transact with the account. Also, check the payment methods to determine how secure your transactions will be once you start playing.

Playing Without Reading Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions lay down the rules for using an online casino. Unfortunately, the fine print is primarily long and full of jargon. Nevertheless, it would help if you never started playing without reading the fine print. Ensure that you read and understand the rules. Doing so will help you determine the minimum amount you can deposit, the maximum amount you can withdraw, and the duration it takes for each transaction. Also, you will learn about the transaction fees. Most importantly, you will learn how the online casino will use your information.

Reviews Disregarding Availability and Responsiveness of Customer Support

It would be best if you never disregard the availability and responsiveness of the customer support team. Doing so is essential because you might encounter a problem at any time. Playing in an online casino with an unavailable support team can lead to losses and frustration. Therefore, choose an online casino like mega888, which has a support team that is available 24/7. Such customer support teams are also responsive and can aid you, saving you money and giving you peace of mind.

Online casinos are, without a doubt, valuable because they make it easy to access casino games. However, you must be careful when selecting the platform, you want to play on. Ensure you use the information you have read here and avoid the mentioned mistakes.
