Lyon Coach Was Willing To Take Less Pay To Coach Nigeria But Pinnick Insisted On Peseiro With Higher Salary

0

The decision to employ Jose Peseiro as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria is one that hasn’t paid off in the minds of football loving Nigerians.

Since his appointment almost a year ago, the team hasn’t been at it’s best with a run of just three wins in nine games. The losses include a heavy 0-4 friendly loss to Portugal and am embarrassing 0-1 loss at home to Guinea Bissau in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

His contract is set to run out next month and there are whispers that he might not be getting an extension on his $70,000 a month pay, although fears still abound that he has a clause that says he can only be denied an extension if he fails to win the AFCON next year.

A member of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) exclusively told OGN that the hiring of the Portuguese was the agenda of former president of the NFF Amaju Pinnick, who ensured that he was given the job despite others who did remarkably well during the interview and were open to lesser pay.

” The coach of Lyon Laurent Blanc and Dutchman Philip Cocu were better during the interview by a country mile. We wanted Blanc because of his experience with the national team of France but Pinnick has already made up his mind on Peseiro”, he told OGN.

” They were both open to working on a salary lesser than what Peseiro is earning but Pinnick said since Peseiro has been promised the job post AFCON and it didn’t work, he should be considered ahead of them all. Now see where we are”, he stated.

Understanding the Technology Behind Laser Cutters

0

Laser cutting is a technology that has revolutionized the manufacturing industry. It is a precise and efficient cutting process that has a wide range of applications in various industries. Laser cutters are used to cut, engrave, and mark a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, wood, and more. In this article, we will explore the technology behind laser cutters and how they work.

What is a Laser Cutter?

A laser cutter is a computer-controlled cutting machine that uses a high-powered laser beam to cut through materials. The laser beam is directed by mirrors and focused by a lens, which allows the laser to cut through materials with extreme precision and accuracy.

The laser beam used in laser cutting is produced by exciting a gas, such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen, or by using a solid-state laser. The beam is then directed by mirrors to the cutting head, where it is focused onto the material being cut.

How Does a Laser Cutter Work?

The process of laser cutting involves several steps. Here is a brief overview of how a laser cutter works:

1.          Design: The first step in laser cutting is designing the part or component that needs to be cut. This is done using computer-aided design (CAD) software, which creates a digital 3D model of the part.

2.          Preparation: Once the part is designed, it is loaded into the laser cutter’s software, which creates a cutting path for the laser beam to follow. This path is based on the 3D model of the part and takes into account the thickness and type of material being cut.

3.          Calibration: Before cutting, the laser cutter must be calibrated to ensure that the laser beam is aligned and focused correctly. This is done by adjusting the mirrors and lens in the cutting head.

4.          Cutting: Once calibrated, the laser cutter begins cutting the material. The laser beam follows the cutting path created by the software, which directs the beam’s intensity and speed. The laser cutter may also use compressed air or another gas to blow away the debris as it cuts.

5.          Finishing: After cutting, the part may require finishing, such as smoothing rough edges or adding surface texture. This is done using post-processing techniques, such as sanding or polishing.

Types of Laser Cutters

There are several types of laser cutters, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Here are the most common types of laser cutters:

1.          CO2 laser cutters: These use a gas laser to produce a high-powered beam of infrared light. They are best suited for cutting non-metallic materials, such as acrylic, wood, and paper.

2.          Fiber laser cutters: These use a solid-state laser to produce a high-powered beam of light. They are best suited for cutting metallic materials, such as stainless steel, aluminum, and brass.

3.          YAG laser cutters: These use a crystal laser to produce a high-powered beam of light. They are best suited for cutting thin metals and ceramics.

Applications of Laser Cutters

Laser cutters are used in a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, and more. Here are some common applications of laser cutters:

1.          Fabrication: Laser cutters are used to cut and shape sheet metal and other materials to create complex components and structures.

2.          Engraving: Laser cutters can be used to engrave logos, designs, and other graphics onto a variety of materials, such as glass, wood, and plastic.

3.          Prototyping: Laser cutters are used to create prototypes of new products and components quickly and accurately.

Conclusion:

Laser cutters are an essential tool for many industries, offering a precise and efficient cutting process that allows for the creation of complex components and structures. Understanding the technology behind laser cutters is crucial to fully appreciate their capabilities and potential applications. You can find a wide range of metal laser cutters here as technology continues to evolve, laser cutters are likely to become even more versatile and efficient, paving the way for new innovations and advancements in manufacturing.

U20 World Cup – Nigeria U20 Coach Banking On Inter Milan Youth Team Star, Team’s Midfielder Daga Still Not Fit

0

The coach of the Nigeria U20 team Ladan Bosso has revealed that he has concluded plans on the players he will be adding to his team for the U20 World Cup as the dates for the submission of preliminary list of players draws near, OGN reports.

Bosso’s team finished third at the Africa Cup of Nations to seal a spot at the U20 World Cup but the coach is far from happy with the performance of some players and he is already looking at replacing them.

He told OGN that he will take a huge part of the players who were with the team at the WAFU tournament and also the U20 AFCON but some new players will join the team when they open camp later this month.

The new players are drawn from teams in the different league levels in Nigeria and also from youth teams of top teams in Europe notably Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Inter Milan.

While attack still remains his major headache, he has concerns over his midfield as well with star midfielder Daniel Daga yet to fully recover from the injury he suffered in the first game of the Africa Cup of Nations.

To that extent he is excited over the willingness of Inter Milan youth team midfield sensation Ebenezer Akinsanmiro to be a part of the team for the tournament. He said he has high hopes on the 18 year old who was signed for around €2m from Nigeria Professional Football League side Remo Stars.

” Daga isn’t fully fit yet but I have this kid from Inter Milan Akin who will be in the camp and probably give us what Daga can deliver. I am relaxed since he is available. I have told you before that Joel Ideho from Arsenal , Ademola Ola-Adebomi from Crystal Palace and Nathan Coker from Norwich City will be in the squad”, he role OGN.

” My aim is to ensure that we give quality representation at the tournament and help players who can be a part of the Super Eagles in a short while begin the process”, he rounded up saying.

Burnley Star Player Has His Mind On Playing For Super Eagles After Securing EPL Promotion – I Want Nigeria

0

Burnley have been confirmed as the first team to gain promotion to the English Premier League after their 3-1 win over Middlesbrough gave them an unassailable lead at the top of the table in the English Championship.

In that game, 23 year old Nathan Tella who is on loan to the team from English Premier League side Southampton Nathan Tella grabbed an assist, his 5th of the season in addition to his 17 goals in the 36 games he has played in the English Championship.

In all competitions, he has 19 goals in 43 games and with his form the winger should no doubt be in the discussion for a Super Eagles call up, following his open declaration on playing for Nigeria ahead of England at senior level despite representing the Three Lions at youth levels.

Tella told the Daily Echo in 2022: “Yeah, it’s true. I haven’t been contacted as such but I’m in the process of sorting out my passport for them.
Obviously, I would like to have the chance, if I’m called upon to be able to play for Nigeria.

“I would love to play international football. That’s always been a dream of mine. If I went away with Nigeria, it would be something new and new experiences bring out the best in players.”

His statement means the ball is now in the court of the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro.

Super Eagles Coach Peseiro Backtracks On Inclusion Of English Top Scorer Akpom, Set For Maiden Call

0

Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro has back down on his decision to exclude the top scorer in the English Championship Chuba Akpom in his plans for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Peseiro was asked why Akpom who has 26 goals from 36 games this season for Middlesbrough has been cleared to play for the senior national team of Nigeria, following a successful switch of allegiance process after representing England at youth levels.

“I appreciate, I know this player, my staff also. We see these players for each weekend, we see 48 match, watching all the players. Yes he (Akpom) is a good player I know but in this moment. I don’t have enough confidence in him but in the future of course, it’s open for everyone”, he replied during the post match conference ahead of the game against Guinea Bissau in Abuja.

With Akpom once again finding the back of the net on Friday against Burnley, the coach has somehow admitted that the 27 year old, who is the first Boro player to score in seven consecutive games at the Riverside Stadium deserves a call up.

The coach has already reached out to the representatives of the player to explain his statement which he felt was lost in translation as he meant no disrespect. He assured them that he will be in the mix for the call up for the games against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.

Nigeria need just three points from their remaining two games in the qualifiers to seal a spot at the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Côte d’Ivoire next year.

Afraid Of Osimhen Or Not Interested – Confusion Over Balogun’s Decision To Pick USA Ahead Of Super Eagles

0

The decision of the top scorer in the French Ligue 1 Folarin Balogun to pick USA ahead of Nigeria after making up his mind to switch allegiance from England, where he is a youth international has generated some sort of confusion.

Born in New York to Nigerian parents but later migrated to England with his parents. It means he is eligible for all three countries and at youth level he played four times for the USA at Under-18 level. He has since been capped by England at U17s and Under-21s.

Om loan to Reims from Arsenal he has taken Ligue 1 by storm with 18 goals this season making him the top scorer. His future at Arsenal will be made clear in the summer, and it is at the same time that he is expected to announce where his senior international allegiance lies.

For now he appears to be leaning more towards the United States of America and was at their camp during the last international break after withdrawing from the England U21 team due to injury. That decision is said to be connected with his desire to play for USA ahead of Nigeria.

It is said just like his club career, he wants a team where he is sure going to get games and that isn’t possible with Nigeria due to the presence of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. But sources close to the player said he was only contacted two years ago by Nigeria and since then no contact.

They claimed he has never ruled out a switch to Nigeria but no one has approached him hence his decision to let that option go and focus on either England or the USA, where he has already had talks with the senior national team coaches of both teams.

Exclusive- Bosso Picks Red Hot “Osimhen II” For Flying Eagles Camp Ahead Of U20 World Cup

0

Head coach of the Nigeria U20 team Ladan Bosso has drawn up a preliminary list of players who will make the final selection of the Nigeria U20 team for the U20 World Cup.

The coach steered his team to the tournament with a third placed finish at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Ahead of the World Cup, he is planning on improving the team in key areas particularly in attack.

Bosso has already extended invitation to some players for the tournament, which presently has no host following the decision of FIFA to strip Indonesia off the hosting right of the tournament over a row on the participation of Israel.

One of the players, who have been called up to beef up the attack of the team is Doma United forward Charles Chibuike popularly called Osimhen due to his striking resemblance to Napoli and Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen.

Three days ago , the forward scored his fourth goal in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with a bullet header to power his newly promoted side to a 2-1 win over Niger Tornadoes in Gombe.

Speaking on his resemblance with the Napoli star , Chibuike said he has been embarrassed by some people while making reference to his semblance with Osimhen, but he is however keen on reaching the same heights like the forward, who is already a senior international for Nigeria.

“It makes me happy that I have a striking resemblance with Osimhen. I didn’t notice it but when I arrived Kaduna, people asked if I was Osimhen. I always told them no. It got to an extent that when people saw me in the market or other public places, they would rush and start snapping pictures with me, including non-Nigerians”, he told Punch.

“I have some few embarrassing moments because of my resemblance to Osimhen. Sometimes guys will jokingly ask me to question my mum because of the resemblance and this makes me feel bad sometimes.  Some have asked if my mother took in for Osimhen’s father, but I always let them know that my mother will not do such thing.

“Osimhen inspires me a lot; people say I play like him but the truth is I hardly watched him then. When I started, I challenged myself to work hard and play like him because he is a very good player, but I still believe I can do better”, he stated

Ex Eagles Captain Mikel Tells Peseiro- Super Eagles Should Play A Better Brand Of Football, They Are Poor

0

Former captain of the senior national team of Nigeria John Obi Mikel says he hasn’t been impressed with the Super Eagles display under Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro, OGN reports.

Peseiro will be a year old in the job in May and so far can only boast of three wins in nine games. The wins all came in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Sierra Leone, Soa Time and Principe and Guinea Bissau respectively. Teams that Nigeria should always beat regardless of who is in charge.

Embarrassing defeats like the loss at home to Guinea Bissau and the 0-4 thrashing in the hands of Portugal has made calls for the manager’s contract not to be extended when it expires in May.

Speaking on the performance of the team under the Portuguese, Mikel told OGN that nothing has changed since the departure of Rohr and the brand of football the team is playing now is poor and not beffiting for their standard.

” They (Super Eagles) should play better than what we are seeing at the moment. The coach has been there for a year and we still can’t see any visible change in the way the team was under the previous manager (Gernot Rohr). The team is poor and you can’t leave out blaming the coach”, Mikel exclusively told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Forgotten Super Eagles Goalkeeper The Hero For Swiss Side FC Lugano, Powers Them Into Swiss Cup Final

0

Swiss side FC Lugano progressed to their second consecutive Swiss Cup final after a 5-3 penalty shoot out win over Servette after both teams stayed tied at 2-2 after extra time, OGN reports.

The hero for Lugano was goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe who hasn’t been called up to the senior national team of Nigeria for almost three years now. All three times he has been called up he wasn’t handed his debut.

Yesterday, he showed how useful he can be to the Nigerian set by stopping two spot kicks during penalty shot out to seal a spot in the final for his team. It was his tenth game of the season in all competitions this season.

In the league he has kept in seven games and yesterday’s game where he was the hero of the game was his third in the Cup and it is one that he will want to remember for a while. It could also be the game that puts him in the frame for another call up to the senior national team of Nigeria.

Super Eagles are having a mini crisis in the area of goalkeepers with first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho suspended for the next AFCON qualifiers games against Sierra Leone. The back up choices during the last international games Chijioke Anigboso and Victor Sochima  were both getting a call up to the team for the first time.

No doubt, coach of the team Jose Peseiro won’t be willing to risk the aforementioned duo paving the way for the 29 year old Osigwe to be in the conversation for a possible debut for the Super Eagles. The Swiss born shot stopper was also a part of the Nigeria U20 team in 2013.
