Super Eagles Players List Areas Eguavoen Should Improve On Ahead Of World Cup Qualifiers Playoff

0

As many as five players of the senior national team of Nigeria have expressed their joy at the appointment of Austine Eguavoen to handle the World Cup qualifiers playoff game against Ghana.

Satisfied with how the coach handled the entire team during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), the players however want the coach to adjust some areas ahead of the game against Ghana in March.

One of the players said he need to basically be more firm in dealing with external influence as during the AFCON, unauthorised staff were allowed access into the team’s private area particularly board members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

” They were too many around the team. In the bus, hotel and even training. That wasn’t the case before now. He need to draw a line on where they are allowed to be at. Gernot Rohr was very firm in that regard”, he said.

Another player said the coach need to have faith in his players and turn deaf towards what anyone has to say citing the issue of not starting Sadiq Umar against Tunisia as one case, where public opinion proved costly.

” To me he has to show unwaivering faith in his players regardless of what anyone is saying. Prior to the Tunisia game he had plans of starting Sadiq because he believe he can trouble them with his size and physical approach. The pressure from public opinion made him start Taiwo Awoniyi. He need to make decisions and stand by it”, he concluded.

On tactics, one of the player said they most times approach games with the mindset of how they want to play not minding what their opponents come up with. It proved costly against Tunisia.

” If we had approached the Tunisian game differently maybe the result would have been different. They did a good job on curtailing us but we didn’t know how to properly punish them until the second half of the game then the red card. We didn’t set up to expose their weakness”, he stated.

Rohr Views Salisu Yusuf As A Better Coach Than New Super Eagles Coach Amuneke

0

Former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr doesn’t seem to rate new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Emmanuel Amuneke.

Amuneke was appointed the new head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, a role that was held by one of Rohr’s trusted lieutenants in Salisu Yusuf during his time as coach.

Yusuf has been demoted to the role of second assistant. A move which we gathered was first proposed to the German but he rejected it and insisted on working with his trusted ally in Yusuf.

Rohr was approached before the start of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with the idea of Amuneke coming in as first assistant with Salisu who was then about to return from a ban blocked from returning to the team by the sports ministry.

The coach rejected the idea insisting on having Salisu back by his side after working with the Kano Pillars gaffer to successfully qualify Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He sees Yusuf as a loyal assistant who is also very sound technically.

What Makes a Betting Site Trust Worthy and How to Stay Safe Online

0

Sports betting has become a widespread activity in Nigeria. It is estimated that Nigerian people aged 18 to 60 would spend over 720 billion Naira on sports betting each year. While it’s already a big amount of money, it is expected that more people will show interest in this activity. Especially now that online sportsbooks make it so easy to place bets online.

You can easily search which is the best betting site in Nigeria. However, no website tells you only one bookie that you should check out. They are right because the best betting site will depend on your betting needs. This means that you may still have to go through multiple bookies before finding the one.

You don’t even need to only settle with one bookie. If you’vebet on sports before, you know that it’s also handy to shop for betting odds to maximize your budget. Bookies may differ on the odds that they are offering and many other factors but what you should always consider is your safety. So, what makes a bookie worth your trust? Keep on reading to find out!

A Valid License

The Nigerian law has nothing against gambling online. This means that the locals are free to place bets on any gambling site. However, even if this is the case, your safety should be prioritized and you must avoid unlicensed casinos and bookies.

A good betting site should carry at least a license from any credible authority or jurisdiction. You can easily spot a casino or bookie license number at the bottom of its site. Other information like where their headquarters are and contact details should also be revealed.

A license number is a good sign but go the extra mile and check if it’s valid. Some bookie would make the license number clickable and link you to the official page of the jurisdiction that issued it. If not, you can always do a quick search whether the license number is unique and valid.

Know that multiple jurisdictions issue online gambling licenses. Some of them are the UK Gambling Commission, Malta Gaming Authority, Gibraltar Gambling Commission, and Curacao EGaming. You may also find licenses from countries like Alderney, Costa Rica, Belize, Cyprus, Antigua and Barbuda, Isle of Man, and even the United States.

Good Reputation

With so many sports betting sites today, the competition to get new and loyal customers is tough. This is why many bookies prioritize giving away hard to resist bonuses to new customers. As much as a hundred percent bonus sounds good, you still should do more research on a site’s reputation.

Fortunately, there are many betting review sites that you can check. These sites are usually thorough with their reviews. They would give all the information you need about a bookie which makes it easier to shop for one. Some would give a table of comparison which shows which bookie is better on certain factors like payouts or bonuses.

It’s best that you also check on review sites that allow actual punters or customers to review bookies. It’s not going to be easy to find a spotless review for one bookie, so you should know how to weigh the pros and cons of signing up with a gambling site.

What makes this step a must-do is that you get to have a glimpse of what an operator’s service is like. If you find many bad reviews when it comes to the timeliness of payouts then you already have an idea which bookie to avoid if you don’t like waiting for winnings to be credited to you.

Reliable Payment Options

Most punters who sign up with an online bookie would say that they chose to do this because of convenience. It’s more convenient to just go online instead of going to a betting shop or casino to place bets. Payment options are what would make a gambler’s experience hassle-free.

Check if a bookie has reliable payment solutions and if they are backed by reputable payment processing parties. Some of the most-used payment methods today are credit and debit cards, digital wallets like PayPal and Skrill, and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Cardano, Binance Coin, and Ethereum.

Other Things You Must Do for Online Safety

Those are three great ways to spot an online betting site that you can trust. While betting companies should always prioritize the safety of their customers, it’s also your responsibility to take care of yourself when making any online transactions.

Another thing that you can do when going online is to use a VPN. This ensures that your connection is private and safe. This way, no one should be able to track your digital footprint. Any of your information will also be impossible to hack into.Overall, online betting is safe as long as you know what you should be doing.

Why I Won’t Be Taking Over As Super Eagles Coach – Jose Peseiro Fires Back At NFF

0

Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro has broken his silence over the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in making a u-turn on plans to hire him as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria.

Peseiro was announced as the new coach of the Nigerian team to take over from coach Austine Eguavoen who was appointed in interim capacity following the sacking of coach Gernot Rohr.

The plan was for Eguavoen to handle the team at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and hand over to Peseiro immediately after the tournament with Nigeria set to take on Ghana in March in the World Cup playoff.

Yesterday president of the NFF Amaju Pinnick confirmed OwnGoalNigeria.comexclusive when he said the football hoise won’t be hiring the coach anymore as earlier announced.

Same evening, the NFF released a press statement officially disengaging the football house from the earlier announced plans to hire the Portuguese, they went further to name new set of coaches led by Austine Eguavoen for the team ahead of their game against Ghana.

Reacting to the move by the NFF, Peseiro posted on his verified Twitter handle that talks have ended with Nigeria and he won’t be taking over the team due to finances and other contractual clauses.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

After several weeks of negotiations, during which several news came out from the Nigerian Football Federation that I would be the coach of their national team from the end of CAN’2021, a fact that I never confirmed, these were not materialized by disagreement over contractual clauses and financial matters.

Ex Juventus Director Moggi – I Prefer Osimhen To Dusan Vlahovic, He Decides Games More

0

Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi has given his opinion on who he will rather have in his team between Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic who joined Juventus in January.

Both players are in same age bracket and as the season progresses they will be required to help their respective teams achieve their aim of finishing the season on a high.

Osimhen scored his tenth league goal of the season against Venezia over the weekend in what was his first start since having facial surgery which kept him out for three months. Vlahovic on the other hand got off the mark for his new team against Hellas Verona.

Moggi was asked who among the duo he will like to have in his team as top striker and he went for Osimhen, explaining that he can single handedly decide games unlike Vlahovic who needs the rest of the team in order to be decisive.

“Between Vlahovic and Osimhen I would have definitely bought Victor, because the Nigerian forward can win games even alone”, he told LaCittaDelPallone.

Amuneke Will Help Eguavoen’s Lack Of Technical Sagacity- Pinnick On New Super Eagles Coach

0

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick says the appointment of Emmanuel Amuneke as one of the Super Eagles coaches is to aid the job of Austine Eguavoen, who still remains the head of the technical crew.

Yesterday, the NFF announced the ex Nigeria U17 and U20 coach as one of the coaches of the senior national team of Nigeria as first reported by this portal one week ago. He takes the role of Salisu Yusuf.

Yusuf still remains as part of the crew but he will now drop to the role of second assistant and also handle the home base team famously called CHAN Eagles. Joseph Yobo keeps his role as third assistant.

Alloy Agu still retains his role as goalkepper’s coach but Paul Aigbogun and Dr Terry Eguaoje who were both of part of the crew to the AFCON were returned back to their previous role in the NFF set up.

Explaining the new set up, Pinnick said the idea is to help Eguavoen with some technical aid despite the fact that the team did well at the AFCON, where they crashed out at the round of 16.

“Eguavoen did well  and he provided good leadership in the team. He gave the team freedom to express themselves, but trust me there can be more to it in terms of the way we want to win”, he said.

“Generally, I commended him for what he did with the team. He took the job at short notice and he was able to deliver. He won three games convincingly. The only team in the tournament to do that in the first round.

“The team we defeated in the first round, Egypt, reached the final. What we need to do now is to just inject some kind of technical sagacity to the team.”

Aigbogun Out, Salisu Yusuf Demoted As NFF Announce New Super Eagles Technical Crew, Amuneke In

The Nigeria Football Federation on Monday announced the reconstitution of the technical crew of the Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles, with Augustine Eguavoen staying as Interim Technical Adviser while former Nigeria World Cup star and former U20 Boys’ Head Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke drafted in as immediate assistant to Eguavoen.

One of the most garlanded footballers to have come out of Nigeria, Amuneke scored both goals that won Nigeria the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations final match against Zambia in Tunis, scored the goal that won Nigeria and Africa’s first Olympic football gold medal in 1996 and played in the 1994 and 1996 FIFA World Cup finals, scoring two goals in USA ’94.

As coach, the electrifying winger qualified Tanzania for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and led the Taifa Stars in the finals. He is a Member of both the FIFA and CAF Technical Study Groups.

“The NFF Board has approved a recommendation of the Technical and Development Committee retaining Augustine Eguavoen as Technical Director/Technical Adviser (interim) while Emmanuel Amuneke becomes the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles. Salisu Yusuf will be the 2nd Assistant Coach/Chief Coach of the CHAN team and Joseph Yobo will be 3rd Assistant while Aloysius Agu remains the Goalkeepers’ Trainer,” NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi announced.

The reconstitution comes after the Super Eagles’ outing at the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon, and ahead of the potentially –explosive FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off round against the Black Stars of Ghana next month.

Sanusi added: “We acknowledge and appreciate the interest that Mr Jose Peseiro has shown in Nigeria Football during our very cordial discussions and have absolutely no doubt about his capacity. We believe that perhaps in the future, there could be an opportunity to work with him.  However, in view of the positive performance of the Super Eagles at the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations which has given hope to Nigerians and boosted our confidence in the present coaching crew to qualify us for the World Cup in Qatar, we have decided to accept the recommendation of the Technical and Development Committee to retain the Eguavoen-led coaching crew and strengthen it with the addition of Emmanuel Amuneke.”

Revealed – Real Reason Why NFF Shelved Handing Super Eagles Job To Peseiro

0

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has moved on from the idea of appointing Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro as first revealed by OwnGoalNigeria.com.

President of the NFF Amaju Pinnick revealed that talks on appointing him as substantive  coach of the Nigerian team stalled due to disagreement on certain clauses in the deal.

OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal the real reason why the Portuguese who was expected to take over from Austine Eguavoen after the Africa Cup of Nations won’t be the coach anymore.

We gathered, the coach was keen on bringing his backroom staff after initial agreeing to work with the ones provided for him by the NFF. He didn’t stop there as unlike sacked former coach Gernot Rohr he wanted the NFF to pick up the bills of his assistants.

Because of that he amended the already agreed deal that was sent to him to sign and return back to the football house. In amending it he demanded for more money to cater for the assistants he is bringing to work with him.

Upon receiving the amended contract draft from Peseiro, the NFF felt uncomfortable in engaging him as he has already started off on the wrong foot by going against what was verbally agreed with him. It’s why he wasn’t in Cameroon as said in the press release that confirmed him as coach of the Nigerian team.

Pinnick has already given his blessings to Peseiro that he can go ahead and get another job as the NFF won’t be appointing him as coach due to the aforementioned issues.

In an interview Pinnick said an agreement wasn’t reached with the coach after the initial approval of his appointment as terms of the deal wasn’t signed and it will stay same.

It means Austine Eguavoen will now take charge of the Super Eagles for their World Cup 2022 playoff game against Ghana in March. An announcement is said to be imminent.
