The four teams interested in the services of red hot Nigerian striker Simy Nwankwo have been told the amount it will cost to price him from Crotone who are expected to be relegated from the Serie A at the end of the season.

Simy has done enough to not go down with the team after scoring 19 goals in the league this season, one short of the 20 he scored last season in the Serie B to help them gain promotion.

His age hasn’t helped his valuation and with a year to run on his current deal after this season Crotone are keen on letting the soon to be 29 year old leave the club at the end of the season for a nominal fee.

He will be 29 in ten days time and that has forced Crotone who are also searching for cash for a rebuild to place a modest fee of €8 million on the forward, which still represent a profit considering the fact that he was signed for €800, 000.

For now Genoa, Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Udinese are the four teams pushing for his signing with reports suggesting that Fiorentina are slightly ahead.

According to Technical director of the team Jan Streuer, a permanent deal for the Nigerian will take a hit on the club’s budget for the season as he commands a high pay outside the transfer fee that will make the deal happen.

We are not only dealing with a transfer fee, but also with the player’s salary. We still have to talk to Ebuehi, ‘says Streuer

The director’s statement means for now the right full back who has made 29 appearances this season with a goal and assist to his name will return to his parent owners Benfica.

He will be hoping for better luck at the team he joined in 2018 but suffered a long term injury that kept him out for 18 months before he finally gained his fitness and head to Twente last summer.
