He has also cemented his spot as the first choice left back of the senior national team of Nigeria and his meteoric rise hasn’t gone unnoticed by Europe’s top teams. As a result, bettors began raising their stakes on his team through bookmakers at NonGamStopBets, a website that provides information about all major sportsbooks not on GamStop. So, his exceptional performance has really solidified his reputation, making him an indispensable asset on the international stage.

However, we gathered Wolves have already informed his representatives that they will be interested in the 23 year old if Porto decides to sell him this summer. A year after signing him from Santa Clara.

For now Porto still feel he will get better offers if he spends another season and improved on his good performances this season with another next season. He is valued around €20 million.

Hammarby Chief – Ex Nigeria U17 Ace Amoo Could Join Leicester City “ Never Say Never”

0

Hammarby Chief scout Mikael Hjelmberg has opened door of a potential exit for 2019 Nigeria U17 winger Akinkumi Amoo to join English Premier League side Leicester City.

The Foxes are among several clubs interested in signing the 18 year old who has emerged as one of the surest prospect in the league lately.

With four goals in seven games, teams like Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax have also been linked with his services.

Speaking on the various interests Hjelmberg said clubs have been in contact over the winger who is valued at four million euros but they are not interested.

However the clubs sporting director Jesper Jansson disagrees suggesting that a move could well be on the cards for the coveted winger.

“Clubs have been in touch and asked if we would be interested in discussing the conditions for a transfer. And we’re not.”

“It’s probably not impossible, but it’s not something we want,” Jansson told Fotbollskanalen. “I want to be clear about that.

“The ambition is for us to see the players at Hammarby and see them play at Tele2 Arena and contribute here before they take the next step.

“You should never say never, but the ambition is to win football matches and be as good as possible, not just buy and sell.

“I heard some talk about it (Amoo transfer speculation and price tag) a few days ago, but there is a little too much focus on it. Basically, we want to win football matches and get as high up in the table as possible

“The main focus should not be on buying and selling players but on making Hammarby better and winning titles. I do not want to be dragged into constantly selling someone as soon as someone comes.

“The focus is on performance on the field and making Hammarby better.”

Amoo’s current contract at Hammarby runs until 2024.

AHMED MUSA RETURNS TO NIGERIA, SIGNS FOR DOMESTIC CLUB

Nigerian striker and national team captain Ahmed Musa, has returned to the motherland after his contract with Qatari side Al Nassr came to an end. The coronavirus brought a halt to many leagues across the globe, including the Qatari league where Musa did not have a fair opportunity to show his quality, but in all honesty his time beyond the shores of his country may be at an end. His career has come full circle, as he returns to the club where it all began for him. It was in 2010, that Musa left his first ever pro club, Kano Pillars to join the Eredivisie via VVV Venlo. Two years in the Netherlands would convince Russian giants CSKA Moscow to sign the young winger for €5,000,000. In Russia, all of Musa’s talent will come to light and he would solidify his place in the public eye. In 2014, Musa would shine an even bigger spotlight on himself when he put two goals past Argentina in the 2014 World Cup.

English champions Leicester, would be piqued and they would cough up €15 million for the budding and in-demand forward. Musa’s time at Leicester would not yield the expected result and he was shipped back to Moscow on a loan deal before the English club cashed in on him with a €16 million sale to Al Nassr. Two years at the Qatari club were not enough to convince them of a new contract, and in a year so financially impacted, the team let go of the 28-year old who has now returned to his country and first club, to lend his experience, voice and leadership. Musa’s addition to the Pillars has been a big boost to the club who have already praised his maturity and commitment to the club’s vision and spirit.

The league commences on May 5th, with the Kano Pillars taking on Enyimba FC.

Captain of the senior national team of Nigeria Ahmed Musa has resumed training with Nigeria Professional Football League side Kano Pillars.

Musa signed a short term deal which will run till when the summer transfer window opens in Europe when he is expected to return to Europe to continue his career.

He will still retain his stature as a free player and one of the terms of his deal is that he isn’t going to earn a penny playing for the team where he made his mark before moving to Europe eleven years ago.

Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that in the two sessions he has had with the team so far, the focus has been on his 2019 Gelandewagen, a brand of Mercedes Benz which cost 120 million Naira.

Also players of the team take turn to have photo with the Super Eagles captain who was earning $650,000 a month at Saudi Arabia side Al Nassr before he terminated his deal with the club last year.

Iheanacho Rule Out Option Of Returning To Man City, Tells Guardiola “I’m Not Coming Back”

0

Red hot Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has rejected suggestions that he could be back at Manchester City if the club triggers a clause that empowers them to buy him back.

The clause was inserted in the deal that took him to the Foxes in 2017 and after struggling to find his feet, the 24 year old is presently one of the hottest striker in English football.

His goal earned Leicester City a 1-0 win over Southampton and also a spot in the final of the FA Cup for the first time in over fifty years. He now has 15 goals in 31 games with ten coming since the start of the year 2021.

Owing to his recent fantastic goal return, talks went viral on Manchester City triggering the buy back clause which is worth £50 million with City also struggling to score goals lately.

All time top scorer Sergio Kun Aguero Will also leave the club in the summer, clearing the path for another striker before the start of next season and talks of resigning Iheanacho has been murmured.

However, the Nigeria international says he is not interested in returning back to City after waiting for his time at Leicester City and now cemented his spot as a regular owing to his goal scoring run.

“Everyone has their route in football and this is mine. It wasn’t only (Sergio) Aguero at City I was behind. There were five strikers. It was a long queue. I was behind (Stevan) Jovetic, (Edin) Dzeko, (Alvaro) Negredo and (Wilfried) Bony. It was quite long! But I trained, loving football and trying to improve every day, and I did start playing.

“Then I came to Leicester and I saw another queue. A queue with Vardy, (Shinji) Okazaki, (Islam) Slimani and the rest, but I am still alive and here, and there is hope every day, so I am happy and loving my football”, he told The Athletics.

“I am not leaving Leicester at the moment but if I ever do then I will be careful not to get into any more queues!”

Turned Down Nigeria For Holland Two Years Ago – Bournemouth Star Danjuma Open To Switching Back To Nigeria

0

Arnold Groeneveld Danjuma says he could switch his international allegiance to Nigeria, two years after turning down an invitation to represent the West Africa country.

Danjuma was called up by coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr almost at same time when he was called up by the Netherlands and the Lagos born winger picked the Dutch side.

After making his debut in the Nations League game against Germany on the 13th of October 2018, he also played in the friendly game against Belgium where he scored his first goal three days later.

Since those games he hasn’t gotten a look in despite his impressive form for Bournemouth who are 5th on the English Championship table and pushing for promotion to the English Premier League.

He has weighed in with 14 goals and 7 assists in 25 starts making it one of his most productive spell at the club. He is now mulling over the idea of making a u-turn on his international future using the new FIFA rule for players who made their senior debut at the age of 21 or under and want to switch nationality.

A new rule approved by FIFA in September means players can switch nations, if they have played no more than three competitive games prior to them turning 21.

He said: “I’ve heard some bits about Nigeria but I can’t say too much about it though.

“My mum is Nigerian and my father lived 23 years in Nigeria as well.
“The culture is still within the family, so it’s not disregard for the Nigerian side. It’s a choice I will think about but I need some time, obviously.
“I think they are interested but obviously I play for the Dutch national team already, I scored for the national team already, so I’ve made that decision.
“With the choice, I would like to represent Holland as well but then again I’m not being called up at the moment.
“So on the back of that, maybe I need to make some decisions.
“I’ve played for Holland at senior level. One cap in the Nations League and one against Belgium but that wasn’t an official match. They have changed the rules so, if you have one cap, you can still change.

Onuachu One Goal Away From Matching Genk Goal Record For A Season, Nets Goal Number 29

0

Paul Onuachu is one goal away from matching Wesley Sonck record of 30 goals a season at Belgium side Genk after scoring twice in a 2-2 draw against Antwerp.

He opened scoring in the 27th minute before adding another four minutes after the half hour, Antwerp pulled a goal back three minutes later before Genk lost all three points with a late goal in the final minute of regulation time quickly followed by another in time added on.

The brace saw Onuachu move one step closer to equaling Sonck’s 30 goals a season record which was set in the 2001/2002 season. Three months ago he backed Onuachu to equal his tally.

That could well be,” he said. He must then be spared injuries.

“He still has time, but it has indeed been a long time since anyone could achieve such figures.”

“He is a bull’s eye. He moves reasonably well and has very good feet for his height. You knew that he would score goals.

“He is more than 2 meters tall: if you throw a ball into the box, you know he will win a header duel.

“But so many goals, that’s impressive. I did not expect that.”

After his unveiling by the Governor of Kano state yesterday Umar Ganduje, the 28 year old confirmed that his return to Pillars is part of his way of thanking the team for the role they played in his development.

He has emerged as one of the names that has been associated with Norwich City’s almost accomplished mission of returning to the English Premier League as they are currently top of the Championship.

Although he represented Ireland at U21 level during the last international break, his representative confirmed that he will make a firm decision on his senior international future after contacts with an unnamed Nigeria football chief.
