2007 Under-17 World Cup winner Rabiu Ibrahim says he is in Belgium to have medicals with Belgian side Gent, before signing the dotted line to complete his switch from AS Trencin.
At Gent, he will join Moses Simon who also joined the Belgian side from Slovak side AS Trencin, two summers ago.
“It’s true, am in Belgium as we speak now, my medicals will take place today, am so happy for the opportunity to play for a team as big as Gent” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” I want to thank AS Trencin and the fans of the club, they really treated me well, and I will forever remain a fan of the team”.
Rabiu Ibrahim has five caps for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the former Celtic, Kilmanorck, PSV and Sporting Lisbon midfield maestro hopes his move to Belgium will cement his spot in the national team.
” I’m hopeful that my performance in Belgium will help attract the attention of the national team handlers, am not done with the team, it’s the pride of every player to play for his country, am not different”.
