The report we made about Victor Osimhen having a serious bust up with his teammate Francis Uzoho at the camp of the team ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations happened at the team’s hotel and not training ground as reported by Soccernet.

The poor attempt to fact check our story fell short of the real issue behind the heated exchange between the duo, which happened 48 hours before the friendly game against Guinea. Osimhen didn’t play a part in the game.

We exclusively gathered that the issue started when Osimhen interjected a conversation between Uzoho, Ahmed Musa and Jose Peseiro by calling the Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper a liar.

” It was a discussion at the team’s hotel and not training ground. Peseiro was having a chat with Musa and Uzoho after dinner when Osimhen interjected and said what Uzoho said isn’t true. The goalkeeper asked him to stay off the issue as it doesn’t concern him and that led to a heated exchange”, an assistant of Peseiro exclusively told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

” When I saw report that it happened at the training ground I just laughed because that isn’t true. I have never seen Osimhen that hurt before and it took the entire backroom staff plus his teammates to call him to order. He was saying somethings in pidgin that looked threatening, but we were able to calm Uzoho down else it would have resulted to something really bad”, he concluded.

Meanwhile on the fight between Osimhen and Balogun in 2019, John Ogu who told the story said it happened at the training ground like we reported when Osimhen provoked Balogun with a wild retaliatory tackle.

Ogu said it left everyone stunned as a young player in the team was up against a senior established player. He however said the issue was resolved by then coach Gernot Rohr.
