Kelechi Iheanacho Powers Sevilla To Victory With Two Goals In Big Win

Kelechi Iheanacho ended his wait for his first goal for his new team Sevilla with a brace in their 3-0 win over Laz Rozas in the Copa Del Rey, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The Nigerian who last scored a goal at club level on the 9th of August 2023, when he netted for Leicester City in the League Cup win over Burton Albion ended his run of six games in all competitions without a goal with a brace.

He struck first in the 69th minute to hand his side a two goal lead before ensuring that the game is put to bed with another goal in the 79th minute, much to the delight of head coach of the team Javier Pimienta who has stood by the Nigerian.

It was his first brace in a club game since April 2021 for Leicester City against West Ham United in the Premier League, and he will be hoping it boost his confidence ahead of their game on Sunday against Real Sociedad in the LaLiga.

So far he has failed to find the back of the net in five league games , a run which piled pressure on the 27 year old who joined the Spanish side on a free transfer from Leicester City following the expiration of his deal at the club.
