The name Tijjani Noslin took centre stage in Italy when he scored a hattrick which helped Lazio to a 3-1 win over former league leaders Napoli to send them packing from the Coppa Italia, OwnGoalNigeria.comreports.
Noslin who joined Lazio from fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona at the start of the season hasn’t gotten sufficient game time since his move, but he appears to be finding his bearing the past few games.
He followed up his hattrick with an assist in their 1-0 win over Napoli in the Serie A over the weekend, following his introduction as a substitute. It means in two straight games he has been key to Lazio beating Napoli on both occasions.
An edited Wikipedia page which has now been corrected claimed he was born to parent of Nigerian descent in the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, but that isn’t the case per what we exclusively gathered.
” Noslin was born in Amsterdam to parents of Surinamese origin not Nigerian. But I can tell you his parents are big fans of Ajax and decided to name him after their ex winger Tijjani Babangida. The Nigerian who is seen here as an idol”, Amsterdam based journalist Danny Betje told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
” It is the same with Tijjani Rejinders at AC Milan. They are not Nigerians but named after a Nigerian who was a god here at the time they were born”, he stated.
