Newly signed Borussia Dortmund midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has pledged his international future to the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chukwuemeka joined Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season from Chelsea, but with an option empowering the German team the right to sign him permanently at the end of the loan deal.
Born in Austria to parents of Nigerian descent, the 21 year old who was raised in England and went on to represent from U-17 to U-20 racking up 23 appearances in total. He has now decided to pledge his senior international future to Nigeria.
He has already applied for a switch of nationality to world football governing body FIFA, hoping that it will be completed before the team’s games in the world cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe respectively.
Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has included him in his 31 man list of players for the games in the hope that he will be cleared before both games.
