Summer Transfer – President Of Galatasaray Explains Osimhen’s Transfer Clause

0

The president of Galatasaray has reacted to the viral reports of Victor Osimhen’s future at the club as the summer transfer window draws near, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Osimhen is widely expected to leave the Turkish side in the summer with Italian Serie A side Juventus seen by many as the front runners for his signing.

However reports say there is a clause in the transfer deal that saw him move from Napoli to Galatasaray, barring him from joining any Italian side until 2027.

That clause according to so many reports is why a potential move to Juventus will be complicated, as there is a penalty that Galatasaray will pay if they violate it by agreeing a deal with an Italian side.

The Turkish club’s president Dursun Ozbek told Fanatik: “There is no release clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful footballer who will serve Galatasaray for many years,” Ozbek said.

“Perhaps the amount was considered high on the day we signed him, but today the prevailing view in football circles is that the transfer fee was low and the player’s value is much higher.”

Super Eagles AFCON Midfielder Returns To Inter Milan

0

Nigeria international midfielder Ebenezer Akinsamiro will return to his parent owners Inter Milan at the end of the season after failing to bag a permanent deal at fellow Serie A side Pisa, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Akinsamiro joined the team on loan from inter Milan in the summer with an option of making the deal permanent, if he makes certain number of appearances and they keep their Serie A status.

Staying in the Serie A looks highly unlikely for the newly promoted side , and Akinsamiro has struggled to win his spot back in the team since his return from the AFCON with Nigeria.

The form that saw him gatecrash the Nigerian team seems to have deserted him, and a decision on his future has been made, and it’s largely why he hasn’t played much lately.

Pisa have resigned to fate that they will be playing in the second division next season, hence are more inclined to playing players that will be part of their campaign next season.

Some People Don’t Want Me To Continue As Super Eagles Coach – Chelle

0

Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle says some people are against him keeping his position as the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle who led the Super Eagles to a third place finish at the AFCON still has a year to run on his deal, but the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in agreement with the National Sports Commission (NSC) agreed to extend his deal to cover two more years.

However the talks have stalled largely due to the demands of the coach , which was leaked to the media in the wake of reports linking him with the vacant position at French Ligue 1 side Marseille.

The coach took exception to the fact that a confidential information like his demands for a new deal was leaked to the media, and feels it’s a calculated attempt by some people to get him sacked.

” I really wonder who put it out there and why. The only reason will be for me to be fired because I am aware some people don’t want me to continue as the coach but I have one more year to go on my contract, and I am looking forward to it”, the coach said.

Passport Forgery- FIFA Can’t Sanction DR Congo Despite Protest By Nigeria

0

World football governing body FIFA is struggling to charge DR Congo on the allegation of nationality fraud following a protest by the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) protested to FIFA alleging that at least seven players in the senior national team of DR Congo that defeated Nigeria in the final of the world cup qualifiers playoff, were not eligible to play for the country.

NFF in their petition said the affected players didn’t fulfil the constitutional provision to be termed bonafide citizens which frowns at dual nationality, hence can’t be eligible to represent them.

There was also claims that one of the players forged his documents to fast track the process of getting his international passport, that was used to clear him by FIFA to play for them.

OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal that the case of document falsification, which is seen as a strong reason for DR Congo to be sanctioned and kicked out of the intercontinental playoff is proving difficult to establish.

It’s largely why a definite judgement has not been reached by FIFA, and it could also be the reason why the protest by Nigeria will fail.

Out Of Favour Super Eagles Midfielder Continue Fine run In Portugal

Marcus Abraham scored his fourth goal of the season in Portugal for top division side Estrela Amadora in their 2-2 draw against Gil Vicente yesterday, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Capped twice by Nigeria at senior level by former coach Gernot Rohr, the 26 year old joined the team from the B team of league giants FC Porto after failing to make the breakthrough to the first team.

The move appears to have gotten his career back on track as he now has seven goal contribution (4 goals, 3 assists) in 22 matches this season. A remarkable tally for a player in a modest side.

Scouts working for the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle have sounded him out, but he is no where near a recall to the team at least for the time being.

He was linked with a move to the Brazilian league in the January transfer window, but the move wasn’t approved by Estrela Amadora who need the winger for the full campaign.
