NFF Still Keen On Getting A Foreign Technical Adviser For Super Eagles

0

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will still continue its search for a foreign technical adviser for the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

A source at the glass house told this portal that the decision to name Austine Eguavoen in interim capacity is intentional as they see him more like someone who can help develop football from Nigeria with policies and ideas.

He said the outcome of the world cup qualifiers playoff against Ghana will be the determinant on the next move by the football body. For now there is a verbal agreement on ground similar to what Jose Peseiro had before talks broke down.

The idea is to keep the technical crew for two years if they scale through the qualifiers and get out of the group stages at the World Cup. But if they fail to secure a ticket then the crew will be overhauled again in preparation for the start of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

A foreign coach will be engaged on that ground with as many as six coaches already pencilled down for interviews and negotiations. More will no doubt indicate their interest when it’s official made vacant.

Europa League Star Bassey Gatecrash Super Eagles 24 Man List For World Cup Playoff Against Ghana

Bar a last minute change of mind, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal that Rangers of Scotland left back Calvin Bassey has been handed a spot in the Super Eagles squad for the World Cup qualifiers playoff against Ghana.

We gathered Bassey made a positive impression on coach of the Nigerian team Austine Eguavoen who was once again impressed with his performance in yesterday’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund, where he bagged an assist.

A source close to the coach revealed that Bassey will surely be in the 24 man list expected to be released by the coach in two weeks time ahead of the game against Ghana in March.

” Bassey looks like a sure banker. Eguavoen likes him a lot particularly the fact that he can play as a left back and also in central defence. He has the size and the ability to thrive in African football. He will be in the list”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

“It’s going to be a 24 man list of foreign based players with the rest of the sqaud about five or so picked from teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). They will train for a week or two before the foreign base arrive camp”, he concluded.

Osimhen To Undergo More Test On Injured Knee, Feared Out Of World Cup Playoff Against Ghana

0

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen will later today undergo more test on his knee which has been a source of concern for the forward the past two weeks.

Osimhen has been playing with the knock for two weeks with doctors hoping he won’t be needing surgery but it appears their projection isn’t working as expected.

The forward was seen leaving the pitch yesterday after Napoli’s 2-4 loss against Barcelona with a bandage on his right knee, same leg that he suffered the knock.

Per Sky Italia, Osimhen will in the next few hours undergo another round of test which will determine if he will be requiring surgery or not as it’s clear he has failed to shake it off as projected.

If he is to go under the knife, it could possibly mean he won’t be available for Nigeria when they take on Ghana in the playoff for the 2022 World Cup in March.

We Couldn’t Handle Him- PSG Coach Praise Moses Simon For Role in Nantes Win Against PSG

0

Coach of PSG Mauricio Pochettino says Nigeria and Nantes winger Moses Simon was the difference in the game which his team PSG lost 1-3 in the French Ligue 1.

Simon wasn’t on the score sheet but bagged the assist for the first goal scored by Randal Kolo Muani in the 4th minute in what ended as a shock defeat for the high flying star studded PSG team.

Pochettino who has the compliment of stars like Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Marquinhos and co pointed out that their basic mistake was not dealing decisively with the threat of Nantes on the left.

On the left was where Simon operated and made it difficult for the PSG backline to build any sort of momentum hence aiding his team to a win that see them move to 7th on the league table.

“We had chances to salvage something from the game which we didn’t take and we didn’t handle the left side of their attack like we should. Simon had so much that we didn’t handle properly”, the coach lamented.

The chief coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Emmanuel Amuneke has explained what new acquisition Ademola Lookman will add to the frontline of the senior national team of Nigeria.

Lookman completed the process for his switch of nationality from England to Nigeria putting himself in pole position to be called up for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers playoff in March against Ghana.

Amuneke who met with the winger in London alongside the interim technical adviser of the team Austine Eguavoen says his addition to the team is a welcome development.

He said Lookman has come of age after getting regular run of games for Leicester City where he is on loan from German side RB Leipzig. He says he will no doubt bolster the attack of the team.

“He is a great addition to the team,  a player that is ready to give his best anytime he is called upon. Playing regularly for Leicester city shows he has come of age and ready for the big ocassion. That explains why we needed him in our fold. I am happy he has agreed to join”  he was quoted as saying by CKD media.

Your Team Is Ordinary Without Osimhen – Ex Juventus Director Tells Napoli Coach Not To Bench Him Again

0

Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi has taken a swipe at the coach of Napoli Luciano Spalleti over his decision to bench Victor Osimhen in their 1-1 draw against Cagliari.

After a not too impressive performance against Barcelona in the Europa League, the club record signing was made to start from the bench against Cagliari in the Serie A on Monday.

Osimhen came in as a substitute with Napoli trailing 1-0 and went on to help them rescuse a point from the game with a bullet header. The draw wasn’t good enough for Napoli however as they wasted a good chance to go top of the table.

Reacting to the chance that they threw away, Moggi writing in his editorial for Libero blamed it on the decision not to start Osimhen with a warning to Spalleti that the Nigerian has to start if he is fit as the Napoli team is ordinary without him.

“The good Cagliari deserve a point base on how they tied title contenders Napoli 1-1. The Neapolitans did not take advantage of the losses of the Milanese team, they risk succumbing and draw only in the final minutes with Osimhen. For Spalletti a point recovered over Inter (who, however, has one game less) and a question: Was Osimhen not able to play from the start? Without him it is another team. the Sassuolo”, he wrote.

Free Bets for New Customers

In most cases, an online betting site rewards new customers with free bets who have registered on their website for the first time. Free bets can be offered individually or in combination with a welcome bonus.

Free Bets as a Welcome gift

When you sign up for the first time at an online bookmaker, you can usually take advantage of attractive offers. These are welcome bonuses, which are offered especially for new players. Often, free bets are also made available to you. However, pay attention to whether the respective free bet is automatically booked to your account or you have to use a special bonus code for this. Additionally, you should always check the bonus terms and conditions to see whether the free bet is valid for the entire sports betting area or the bet may only be placed on a specific game or event.

Free bets as a special bonus

Free bets can also be offered to you by an online bookmaker as a special bonus. That usually happens when you make a deposit into your account. For this, you will be offered a free bet, which you can usually use for the entire sportsbook. The different promotions of this kind can vary greatly between the individual betting sites. Therefore, you should always check the bonus terms and conditions very carefully before claiming it.

Free Bets for Existing Customers

Not only the new customers but even existing customers can enjoy free bets from time to time. At the various online betting providers, you can receive free bets in many different forms.

With these offers, you should always pay attention to the maximum amount up to which the cashback free bet can be booked back to your account.

Free bets for live betting

With many online betting providers you can also receive free bets, which are specially designed for the live betting area. This gives you the opportunity to place your free bet on a game that has already started in real time. You should pay close attention as the game has been already started. You cannot use your free bet for preplay bets in these promotions. Hence, you should visit the live betting section of your bookmaker from the beginning.

Free bets for high rollers

In online sports betting, a high roller is a customer who regularly places very high stakes on his sports bets. These players are often rewarded with attractive bonus promotions by the betting providers. These are very often free bets, which are booked to the account of a high roller as a reward for the high stakes. Regarding a high roller bonus, you should thoroughly read the details about the bonus program of the respective betting provider.

Porto, a Nigerian legionnaire, has a chance to complete a “golden double”

0

Porto and Nigeria defender Zaidu Sanusi is on the verge of winning two titles with his team this season. This 2021/22 season might be the most successful of his career for the 24-year-old Nigerian defender, who primarily plays on the left-wing. After all, his team, Porto, has won two domestic titles in a row and is the overwhelming favourite in both.

We’re talking about the Portuguese championship and cup, where Nigerian Zaidu Sanusi’s squad is on the verge of victory. Odds from the well-known betting company bet9ja , where you can always get familiar with the odds for the most prominent events linked to Portuguese and European football in general, confirm this.

Based on the values that analysts assign to Porto’s win in the national championship and cup, we can deduce that the Sanusi Nigerian team’s chances of triumph in the national championship are now at 90%. In the cup event, the Dragons, as their fans refer to Porto, are considered the favourites, with a 55 percent probability of winning.

The current rankings in the standings explain Porto’s massive advantage over opponents in the battle for the championship title. The Nigerian Sanusi’s squad leads Sporting Lisbon by 6 points after 23 rounds, and Benfica, which is in third place, by 12 points.

Sporting will be Porto’s key rival in the battle for the Portuguese Cup as well. The Dragons will face off against this metropolitan squad in the tournament’s semi-finals. Given that two lower-level clubs – Tondela and Mafra – will play in another semi-final, the match between Porto and Sporting is dubbed the “early final” by analysts.

It is worth mentioning that Porto’s Nigerian defender Zaidu Sanusi has made a significant contribution to his team’s victory this season. The footballer has played 14 matches in the Portuguese championship, scoring one goal, as well as 10 matches in other events in which his team is participating this season.

Spanish Players Union Backs Nwakali, Blast Huesca Over Suspension, Fine Slammed By The Club

0

The last has not been heard about the disagreement between Nigeria international midfielder Kelechi Nwakali and his Spanish second division side Huesca.

Huesca suspended the Nigerian after placing a fine on him for reporting late from the Africa Cup of Nations following the elimination of Nigeria at the round of 16 of the tournament.

Nwakali has since been banished from training with the first team as part of the punishment but the players union are challenging the act by Huesca insisting that the player did nothing wrong to warrant such. He explained that his lateness was due to an illness and even provided doctor’s report to back his claims.

Per a report by Football Espana, Huesca through their sporting director were desperate to loan Nwakali in the January transfer window got a fee of €80,000 after he declined their offer of extending his deal which will expire in six months time.

It’s alleged that the sporting director threatened Nwakali that he won’t be paid if he refuse to leave the club in January, but despite his willingness to leave what Huesca were demanding made it impossible for any of the interested team to sign him.

The report claimed Nwakali’s poor relationship with the power brokers at the club is why he is keen on an exit in the summer but the club don’t want to lose him for a free hence the latest act. They see the act is one of gross misconduct and discrimination against the player.

Their aim is to terminate his contract to avoid paying him for the rest of the season. It is why they are no longer playing him. The players union have however opened up a case in his favour.

They claim the club has no grounds to sack Nwakali accussing Huesca of committing procedural error in the opening of the case against the former U17 Golden Ball winner. In the meantime, it’s looking like Nwakali won’t play any part in Huesca’s remaining game of the season.

It Was The Decision Of Dennis, Watford For Him To Miss AFCON – Watford Teammate Ekong Reveals

0

The vice captain of the senior national team of Nigeria William Troost Ekong has given his opinion on the decision by Emmanuel Dennis to snub the chance to be a part of the senior national team of Nigeria for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Dennis was included in the squad for the tournament but he declined and intseas stayed behind to help his club Watford escape the drop to the English Championship as they are presently in the relegation spot.

While Watford said it was due to the fact that they were not sent a pre tournament notification for the forward before his formal invitation, Ekong has now revealed the true situation of things.

It was a distraction for both (parties),” says Troost-Ekong to The Athletics. “The situation probably wasn’t ideal. But I think it was his decision and Watford’s decision to make, so you have to respect that. It was a lot messier than it had to be.”

We gathered Dennis has apologised to the technical crew of the team and also the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) during a meeting in London and he is set to be given a look in for the World Cup qualifiers playoff against Ghana in March.
