Oghenekaro Etebo has left his base in Portugal for Spain where he will sign the dotted lines for Spanish LaLiga side Las Palmas, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Las Palmas pipped Belgium side Genk to his signature of the 22 year old as the player preferred the Spanish LaLiga ahead of the league in Belgium.
The move to Las Palmas is imminent and it was the reason why he was omitted from the squad for Feirense ongoing game against Pacos de Ferreira in the Primeira Liga.
He is presently the top scorer of CD Feirense with four goals in 17 league games this season. A tally which would have been more if not for the defensive way his team are usually set up in games.
Widely expected to make the Nigerian squad to the World Cup, his immediate challenge will be to help Las Palmas pull out of the drop zone in the LaLiga where they are presently placed 19th on the 20 team table.
Uncofirmed reports has it that Las Palmas were also given the option of signing him permanently if they are able to beat the drop for a fee in the region of 8 to 10 million Euros.
