0

Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has decided on the players that will represent the team in the upcoming world cup qualifiers games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe respectively, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made public a list of 39 players picked in the provisional list by the coach, saying the number will be trimmed to 23 after the conclusion of games this weekend in the various leagues from where the players were picked.

Per what we exclusively gathered 15 players got provisional letter of invitation while the rest were handed direct invitation for the games , and even received their flight ticket to Kigali for the first game on the 21st against Rwanda.

There are also strong indication that the number will be reduced to either 24 or 25, and not the 23 that was contained in the press statement that accompanied the unveiling of the squad list for the games.

Chelle is said to have already placed four players on standby owing to doubts around four players named in the original list for both games, expected to be made public in two weeks time.

Napoli-Fiorentina

Napoli hosts Fiorentina at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in a very interesting clash from the 28th round of the Serie A. If you stay with us youd be able to see our free soccer tips today. Lets go!

Napoli are in some type of a crisis at the moment. Antonio Contes team is without a win in its last five matches in the Serie A – four draws and one defeat. Because of this Napoli lost their position as a leader in the Calcio – they are now second, but just one point behind the leader Inter Milan.

Last weekend Napoli and Inter faced each other in Naples, but the match ended with a 1-1 draw – a result that allowed Inter to remain on top. Napoli were lucky to get a draw here, given the fact that Philip Billing scored the equalising goal in the 87th minute of the match. Before him Federico Dimarco opened the score for Inter with a beautiful free kick.

It was a 5th consecutive match without a win for Napoli. What could Antonio Conte change now? The new signing Noah Okafor could be an answer to the teams problems in attack. At the same time Philip Billing could be given a chance after his goal against Inter. David Neres and Franck Anguissa are sidelined with injuries at the moment.

Fiorentina are finding themselves at 7th place in the Serie A with 45 points. This is a decent season for La Viola, but arguably it could get better if they make a strong final run of this campaign. Raffaele Palladinos team lost three consecutive matches in the league, but this run ended with an important 1-0 win against Lecce at home. Robin Gosens scored the only goal in the game after just 9 minutes of playing. It was Gosensthird goal for the 2024/25 season.

Despite winning the match, Fiorentina werent fully convincing against Lecce. Now the coach Palladino could try something different for the next game. Albert Gudhmundsson and Nicolo Fagioli could be among the players to receive the managers trust.

Moise Kean is the big absentee in Fiorentinas team. Hes the top striker of the team, but hes currently recovering from an injury.

Thats the free soccer tips today for the Serie A derby match between Napoli and Fiorentina at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. After five consecutive matches without a win, Napoli are obligated to win here. But it wont be easy against La Viola.

I Never Liked Playing Against Him In Training – Mikel Tells Chelle Super Eagles Player For The Big Occasion

0

The former captain of the senior national team of Nigeria John Obi Mikel has picked the one player in the Super Eagles team that has a big game mentality as they head into two crucial games in the world cup qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Mikel who now runs a podcast played with most of the senior players in the team in a distinguished national team career that saw him win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, and also played in two world cup tournaments.

He is backing the team to get back to winning ways when they resume their campaign in the 2026 world cup qualifiers with games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe respectively, later this month under new coach Eric Chelle.

Speaking ahead of both games Mikel said the Super Eagles often do well with their back against the wall, and expects it to be the case when they play in both games looking for a first win in the series. A poor run that has left them 5th in the six team group and four points behind the leaders Rwanda.

” I expect Super Eagles to win both games even though it hasn’t been the best of start to the qualifiers. The players know the consequences of missing out on another world cup and won’t want a repeat. One thing I know is how the team tend to give their best in situations like this”, Mikel told OwnGoalNigeria.com via a source in Dubai.

” In the team we have players with huge mentality for games like this. Moses Simon is one player I know that has such character. I never liked playing against him in training. You can also say players like Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong and Ademola Lookman can be called upon in games like this”.

He Doesn’t Have To Push Him Away – Leverkusen Director Slams Boniface For Fighting With Teammate

0

The managing director of sport at Bayer Leverkusen has lashed out at the behavior of Victor Boniface in their 4-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt when he had a heated exchange with his teammate Emiliano Buendia during the course of the game.

Boniface who saw a move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Nassr collapse at the final minute hasn’t found his way back into the starting lineup, and over the weekend he started from the bench for the third game in a row.

He got involved in a heated argument with Buendia , who was also introduced as a second half substitute in the game. An incident that has dominated the headlines in Germany.

The pair got into each other’s way in an attempt to increase the tally to 5-1 leading to an exchange of angry words, with Boniface pushing the Argentine after using his index finger to tell him off. They were separated by teammates.

Managing director of the club Simon Rolfes lamented the act of Boniface pushing Buendia, even though he admitted that he likes when players show desire to win. “We want a team that’s ‘alive’, but Boni doesn’t have to push him away”, he said.

His other teammates also gave their opinion on the disagreement as they fear up for their UEFA Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Jonathan Tah: “These are emotions. Everyone wants to score.”

Alex García, who wanted to take the corner: “I saw it, but I didn’t know it was between Boniface and Emi. I don’t know what happened, but it’s football, it’s the heat of the game, so – it’s not important.”
