The new agency responsible for the affairs of the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has offered him to Ligue 1 side Nantes, after losing out on the Marseille job to Habib Beye, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.

Chelle who still has a year to go on his deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was among the options at Marseille following the exit of Roberto De Zerbi.

He lost out to Beye, and recent reports suggest that the coach who was officially announced as a new client of Dubai based agency Wilder’s Sport has been offered to another Ligue 1 side in Nantes.

Super Eagles – Fake Passport Claims Delay Verdict On Protest Against DR Congo

0

The claim by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that a certain player in the squad of DR Congo submitted a fake passport used in clearing him to play for them has been fingered as largely why FIFA is yet to make a verdict on the protest, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

NFF protested the manner which certain players in the squad of DR Congo, that defeated the Super Eagles in the world cup qualifiers playoff got the passport that was used in declaring them eligible to play for the African country.

While the most public information has been about the players contravening the constitution of DR Congo by holding dual nationality, the main concern in the protest is claims by Nigeria that a certain player submitted a forged passport.

FIFA who were expected to pass a verdict two days ago are taking their time to establish the legality of the claims by Nigeria, before passing a judgement on the protest which Nigeria lodged seeking the disqualification of DR Congo.

If they are successfull, they will take the place of DR Congo in the intercontinental playoff, where there will be two tickets for teams to qualify for the world cup.

Contract Extension- Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle Gets New Agent

0

Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has gotten a new agent to handle talks on his planned contract extension in the wake of reports linking him to the vacant managerial job at French Ligue 1 side Marseille.

The coach is also linked with the vacant managerial job of Angola, who recently dismissed their coaches and see Chelle as an option that they can use to rebuild, after a disastrous campaign at the AFCON.

Chelle still has a year to run on his deal as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, and despite failing to meet the target of at least getting to the final of the recently concluded AFCON it was agreed that he should be given an extension, with a better pay.

However those talks have not moved as expected, with Chelle demanding for a monthly salary in the region of $50,000, which has been rejected by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) who are responsible for his salary.

Talks started with his representative Abraham Sidibe during the AFCON, where Nigeria finished third but it will now continue with a new agency in Wilder’s Sport, who officially announced that the Malian has signed up to be their client.

” Welcome to the family, coach Eric Sekou Chelle. We are proud to announce his signing to our agency. His experience, high standards and leadership will be a great asset as we move forward together”, a statement reads on the agency’s official social media handle.

Bangs was tipped by many to be among the breakaway stars in the league owing to the way he acquitted himself during pre season. He hasn’t disappointed so far.

After playing 45 minutes in his first game, which was a 0-4 defeat against Podbrezova, it was against the league leaders Slovan Bratislava that he made a very huge statement despite playing for just 8 minutes.

Trenčín secured a shock 2-0 win against the league leaders, and Bangs caught the eyes with the manner which he helped bring calm to his team’s battle to end the game.

Comfortable as a winger on either flanks or as an attacking midfielder, he will be hoping to be the next Nigerian to use the club as a springboard to greater things, like his fellow academy graduates Sani Suleiman who recently German side RB Leipzig and Adams Yakubu who joined Ukrainian side LNZ from the modest side.

Leicester City Defender Made “A Big” Mistake Rejecting Super Eagles

0

24 year old Leicester City defender Caleb Okoli made a big mistake turning down Nigeria when he was approached by former coach Jose Peseiro according to a source close to the Portuguese, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Okoli was a target for Peseiro who was in charge of the Super Eagles, and the coach confirmed that he will try to convince the then U21 international of Italy, who was a teammate of Ademola Lookman back then at Atalanta to consider Nigeria.

Peseiro told TMW in November 2022: “We want to convince him to play for Nigeria. We will try.

“After this friendly match against Portugal, there will be time to talk to him and to understand his decision. Whether he wants to play with us or not.

“I will talk to him through (Ademola) Lookman’s brokerage. I will show him my model, what I think of him, the project we can have together with Nigeria.”

However Okoli rejected the overtures to focus on progressing through the youth ranks of Italy, but that dream now seem like a distant reality as he is presently in the English Championship with Leicester City.

” Okoli made a mistake, a big one because Peseiro had high hopes on him after watching him play for Atalanta. He was supposed to be the man that replaces William Troost-Ekong who was not in good terms with Peseiro”, a source revealed.

” He (Okoli) refused the option of switching to Nigeria and maybe that’s way he is in the second division in England. Imagine if he had switched to Nigeria at the age of 20?. I wish him all the best”, he stated.

We can exclusively reveal that the duo will be replaced in the coming days, with what som sources say are better options who will also benefit from the experience of working with the Super Eagles.

Already Ogumodede has thrown his hat in the ring for the Nigerian U20 job, with his future as coach of Remo Stars far from certain. Ilechukwu is still at Enugu Rangers aiming to lead them to a continental slot.
