I Regret Joining Your Team – Nwakali Blast FC Porto, Confirms Switch From Number 10 Role At Huesca

0

Former captain of Nigeria U17, U20 and U23 Kelechi Nwakali has hit out at his time at Portuguese side FC Porto where he spent time on loan.

In an interview with the BBC, the Huesca midfielder who made his bow for the team in their opening La Liga game last weekend against Huesca which ended in a 1-1 draw termed his loan move to Porto as one filled with regrets.

The 22 year old said the whole experience in Porto was entire different from what he was expecting when he decided to make the loan move from Arsenal.

“I regret making the move, that was a mistake from me and the agency,” he admitted.

“They (agency) have a lot of players and I needed to go to another place where they have my interest at heart and where they can focus on me.

“I was told when I moved that I would train and play with the first team and there was an option to buy me on a permanent deal which sounded good.

“But after three months of training with the first team, it wasn’t looking like I would join the first team any time soon”, he told BBC.

He also confirmed that he now plays multiple roles at Huesca as first reported by this portal. He however said he can still play in his preferred number ten role but it depends on the coach.

“As the season progresses, I believe I am going to play more, right now I also play as a Number 4, the coach is trying to see the roles for which he can always feature me’ he explains.

“I can play as a number 10, 8 and 4 and I believe it’s a great advantage for me and I can always help the team.”

Nantes Gives Condition For Signing Of Mikel Agu From Vitoria Guimaraes

0

French Ligue 1 side have cooled their interest in Vitoria Guimaraes Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu , Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Agu as reported by this portal agreed terms on a move to the Ligue 1 side with coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr putting in a word for him.

Nantes have a long term interest in him but they are presently stock in midfield and were hoping that some players will leave to create space for the signing of the Nigerian.

The nature of the transfer market this year made it impossible for them to get their valuation of two midfielders they wanted to move on. Hence their decision to shun a move for Agu.

If they are able to move two of their midfielders then they will reignite their interest in the 27 year old. For now their search is on getting a left back and a striker to bolster their attack.

Super Eagles Hopeful Osigwe Concedes Five Goals As Inter Thrash Swiss Side FC Lugano

0

FC Lugano had a warm up game to forget in Italy as they were hit 5-0 by a rampant Inter Milan team with Lautaro Martinez scoring a brace.

Former Nigeria U20 goalkeeper Sebastain Osigwe who recently moved to FC Lugano started in goal for the Swiss side and was seemingly helpless as Inter found their way into his net with little resistance.

Osigwe was substituted in the 75th minute after conceding five goals with three coming in the first half of the heavy defeat suffered by his new team.

The shot stopper could do nothing about two of the goals he conceded as he was badly exposed, however for two other goals he should have done better particularly the third goal.

26 year old Osigwe has made open his desire to play for Nigeria but in order for him to get a look in, he surely will have to do better than he did in today’s game.
