Galatasary want to pay a fee of €5 million for the permanent transfer of Onyekuru after a six months loan period but Monaco value him at €7.5 million and so far have refused to back down on their demand.

Onyekuru is currently in Nigeria self isolating after his wife tested positive for coronavirus, the second time the 23 year old will be forced to isolate in a space of six months due to the virus.

With just four appearances and one assist to his name this season, Monaco are keen on Onyekuru returning to Galatasary where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

“In Southampton, I am still watching Nathan Tella, it’s great to see he’s now making starts in the Premier League.”

“The main aim is to get the best players to play for Nigeria. It doesn’t matter whether he is based in Europe or Nigeria. We want the best players,” he added.

This season he is slowly emerging as one of the breakaway stars of Southampton and only yesterday he played for 58 minutes to help his team to a shock 1-0 win over reigning English Premier League champions Liverpool.

He was introduced for the injured Musa Djenepo in the first half of the game in what was his fifth appearance of the season with the rest coming in games against Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, Chelsea and Manchester City.

His inclusion in the squad is coming hot on the heels of reports that as many as three players who were part of the Super Eagles last squad for AFCON qualifiers won’t be called up in March.

“ I can tell you for free that three players who were part of the last team won’t be in the next squad. Rohr has seen enough of them and want to try new players or hand recall to players who were missing back then due to injury”, a source told this portal.

Fringe Super Eagles Star Maja Listed Among Expensive Flops At Bordeaux

0

Josh Maja has been listed among players who have failed to live up to expectations this season at French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux as the league get set to resume from the Christmas and New Year holiday.

Maja was listed alongside five others by 90min.com as players who are earning big at the club but delivering next to nothing on the pitch which could lead to their exit from the team very soon.

The former Sunderland forward has scored just two goals in 15 games this season with his last goal coming in October and he has slipped to third choice in attack behind the duo of Jimmy Briand and Hwang Ui-Jo.

He started the season as first choice striker but his form which has also stopped him from adding to his solitary cap for the senior national team of Nigeria saw him drop down the pecking order at the club.

A move back to England where he excelled for Sunderland in Ligue 1 has been rumored to be on the cards for the 22 year old who hasn’t settled down in France since his move in January 2018.

Coach of Spanish LaLiga side Villarreal wants Nigeria international forward Samuel Chukwueze to be more consistent in his game after coming off the bench to claim an assist in their 2-1 win over Levante.

Chukwueze came off the bench in the 46th minute as a substitute for Fer Nino and nine minutes later he set up Gerard Moreno for his 9th goal of the season.

It was the 16th appearance for the Nigerian who has one goal and three assists to his name so far but according to Unai Emery he can do more for the team if uses his talents more consistently.

“ He is beginning to do the things we expect of him this season but he has to be ready to provide it on a regular basis. The talent to do more is there but we have to keep on working to help him do more”, the coach said.

The message is not too different from what he said in December about the 21 year old Nigerian who has these days play more as a substitute despite many expecting him to pin a regular starting spot.

“We need Samu to settle after two years of irregularity in the first team. We need him to make the difference and this year he’s doing it to a lesser extent [than before].

“I opted for him at Anoeta [against Real Sociedad] with the idea that he’d win us the game, but it wasn’t to be. We’ll continue to work with him on it”.

Gattuso while reacting to blames on Osimhen who hosted a party in Nigeria with several people around with no mask or regards for social distance, the coach said all blames should be directed to him because he gave him permission to travel to Nigeria.

The coach refuse to confirm or deny reports of a fine on the record signing explaining that he has apologized for his actions to his teammates and staff of the team.

“He knows he was wrong, he apologised and now we are waiting for him. Will the club produce fines? I am a coach, I only decide the type of language I use with him. I gave him the authorisation to go to Nigeria, so I was wrong too”, the coach said.
