Bayern Leverkusen Open Talks With Slavia Prague On January Transfer Of Peter Olayinka

Per a report in Germany Bayern Leverkusen are interested in signing Nigeria international forward Peter Olayinka.

Kicker reports that as part of Bayern Leverkusen plans if one of the trio of Moussa Diaby, Leon Bailey or Karim Bellarabi leaves the team, Olayinka is among the players they are looking at as replacement.

The possibility of signing him this January is very high according to same source as they expect Slavia Prague to lower the €10 million they placed on him in the summer when they try to recruit him.

Although he isn’t the only player they are looking at , he is for now the one that looks more likely to be signed owing to his impressive performance against them in the Europa League where he scored the lone goal to hand his side a 1-0 win.

The ex Gent forward still has two more years to run on his deal at the club where he has scored a total of 17 goals in 86 games over the course of his two years stay at the club. This season he has 6 in 18 games.

Jamilu Collins Hands In Transfer Request In Bid To Force Move From Paderborn

Nigeria international defender Jamilu Collins has handed in a transfer request to the management of Bundesliga 2 side Paderborn, Owngoalnigeria.comunderstands.

Collins has a six months left to run on his deal at the club but he is keen on moving in the January transfer window instead of waiting till the summer when he will be free to leave for nothing.

Paderborn turned down offers for the left back following their relegation to the second division in Germany although some sources said they didn’t receive any offer for the 26 year old.

His desire to leave the team is partly the reason why he has only played 8 games this season out of a possible 14 games. He is expected to miss today’s game against Fortuna Düsseldorf for same reason.

The new coach of PSG according to reports in France has told the club that he want Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in his team as part of his plans to shore up the midfield.

Mauricio Pochettino was only recently appointed as coach of the team following the sacking of coach Thomas Tuchel with the club expecting the former Tottenham Hotspur boss to go one step further in this year UEFA Champions League than last year when they finished second.

He sees midfield as one area where the team could do with couple of signings and he has Ndidi of Leicester City as his prime target most likely in the summer as the January window won’t be ideal enough to price away the 23 year old.

Taiwo Awoniyi has moved up the ladder as Nigeria’s most potent striker in Europe top five league with his goal for Union Berlin in their 2-0 win over Werder Bremen.

Nigeria’s top scorer at the Rio 2016 Olympics Sadiq Umar once again showed his predatory instinct in front of goal with his first hattrick for Almeria which helped them to a 3-1 win over Ponferradina.

The 23 year old completed his hattrick in 29 minutes by scoring in the 2nd, 21st and 29th minute to help Almeria maintain their push for promotion to the LaLiga.

20 year old Toronto FC forward Ayo Akinola has accepted an invitation to train with the senior national team of Canada shunning the chance to do same with Nigeria.

Akinola is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospect in the MLS with nine goals in 16 games this season. A form which triggered a three way tussle for his international future between Nigeria , Canada and the United State of America.

Although he has represented America at various youth levels and even the senior team where he played and scored on his debut against El Salvador in a friendly game, he has now accepted the chance to team up with Canada in January.

France Ligue 1 side St. Etienne have opened discussions with FC Zurich over the signing of their Nigerian forward Tosin Aiyegun according to maxifoot.fr.

St. Etienne are looking at two strikers to boost their attack but Aiyegun is ahead of Arthur Cabral in their plans as they expect the 22 year old who plays for FC Basel to be a lot more expensive than the Nigerian.

Aiyegun was signed in the summer of 2019 from Latvian side Ventspils for a fee rumored to be around €500,000 on a deal which will run till 2024.
